Luca Toni (Verona) Lotto Stadio Potenza
Luca Toni laced up in his second signature Lotto Stadio Potenza boot at the weekend. The previous blue/white colourway has been replaced by a bolder red/yellow drop as the Italians reward Toni's loyalty to the brand with a boot which he'll wear exclusively for Hellas Verona in Serie A.
Paul Pogba (Juventus) Nike Magista Obra
Paul Pogba rarely wears the same Nike Magista Obra colourway for two games in row these days and his latest pair came in the form of Nike's next, and currently unreleased update. Set for launch in the coming weeks the drop takes over on the feet of the Juventus midfielder from his custom design covered in symbols that he wore last week.
Hakan Calhanoglu (Bayer Leverkusen) adidas adizero 99g
Hakan Calhanoglu was the man to officially debut adidas' groundbreaking 99g adizero boot and any doubts over the durability of the boot are crushed by the player who has remained in the silo ever since. The first sub-100g boot to hit the game kicked off the brand's 'Limited Collection' line-up in serious style and a huge statement of intent in football innovation.
Walter Kannemann (Atlas) Puma evoPOWER 1
It's a boot that Yaya Toure has reverted to many times this season, the 'Pool Green' PUMA evoPOWER 1 landed in October 2014 as one of the hottest colourways to land on the first generation silo and remains on the feet of Atlas left-back Walter Kannemann.
Joao Pedro (Cagliari) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV
Nike opted not to dish out their recent 'Academy Pack' to their contracted athletes but that didn't stop numerous pro players getting their hands on a pair. The ever-popular black out design was always going to be a big hit and Cagliari's Joao Pedro became the latest player to switch into the Mercurial Superfly IV at the weekend.
Leonel Vangioni (River Plate) adidas X
Arguably the spot of the week came from Argentina as River Plate's game with Boca Juniors was abandoned due to crowd trouble. It's no secret that adidas are on the verge of a football revolution and their headline 'X' boot from that pack features a distinct new pattern, but that's where Leonel Vangioni's pair become interesting with three chunkier stripes.
Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United) New Balance
New Balance's extended tease phase took another turn at the weekend as Marouane Fellaini laced up against Arsenal at Old Trafford wearing his usual white-out boots with the word 'Make' dominating the forefront of the boot. Whether this will be the name of one of the silos remains to be seen but it's the latest clue that a long-awaited launch date is close.
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas Predator Instinct
Steven Gerrard waved goodbye to the Kop he used to stand on at the weekend. The Liverpool hero was wearing his commemorative adidas Predator Instinct boots bespoke with 'YNWA' on the heel and a complete unique red and white upper as he played his last ever game at the ground where he became a legendary captain.
Hector Moreno (Espanyol) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0
Hector Moreno has blacked-out his second generation adidas Nitrocharge 'Haters Pack' recently. The Espanyol player had been wearing the official colourways up until March where he turned to the black pen, perhaps to signify the end of his contract with the Three Stripes.
Kosovare Asllani (PSG) adidas F50 adizero
The 'Solar Blue' adidas F50 adizero dropped as a women's specific colourway but has received backing in the men's game too due to sizing releases. Kosovare Asllani was amongst a number of women's players this week wearing the boot as the design battle heats up ahead of the World Cup in Canada this summer.
Ezequiel Lavezzi (PSG) adidas Primeknit 2.0
Another PSG striker making the cut in adidas boots this week was Ezequiel Lavezzi. Displaying more recognition of the quality of the second-generation Primeknit boot Lavezzi has remained in the boot which adidas are labelling as their most comfortable of all time. Definite Primeknit progression.
Jack Wilshere (Arsenal) Nike Tiempo Legend V
Jack Wilshere has returned from his latest injury in the Nike Tiempo Legend V rather than his usual Magista Opus. The Arsenal man has struggled to get to grips with the Magista since the end of the CTR series and wore the Tiempo against Swansea on Monday night before making an appearance from the bench against Man United yesterday.
