While Paris Saint-Germain may have had to concede that the title will go the way of Monaco this season, it hasn't stopped them scoring for fun. Nor has it stopped Julian Draxler popping the champagne as he donned the reworked adidas Predator Mania in PSG's 5-0 win of St Etienne.
Sealing the deal and signing this game off with a 90th minute strike, Draxler presented us with a tasteful glimpse as to what it's like to sip on the finer side of football. The Mania instalment of the Predator sits at the pinnacle of football boot fame - a boot that's locked into the archives thanks to magical moments from Beckham, Raul, Zidane, Del Piero etc, the Champagne introduction personifies a generations attachment to football boots. Exquisite selection, Julian Draxler would have just been 9 years old when the originals were brought to the table in 2002 though they clearly had a lasting impact as he laced up the reproduced versions against St Etienne last night.
Tongue not quite stretched to the Beckham level, he's left a bit of room for the iconic upper to party. In doing so, these classics have shown themselves to shine in a contemporary class just as much as an old school one. Selling out quicker than the cork has hit the sky, there's something special about the Champagne. Praise be if you managed to bag a pair.
