Nike have unveiled the women's Spark Brilliance football boot pack along with a matching USA National Team home kit for the girls to wear at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games this summer.
With a second generation Nike Magista Obra just around the corner, Nike have released the women's Spark Brilliance pack as a trio rather than the usual quartet. The Hypervenom Phantom, Mercurial Superfly V and Tiempo Legend 6 are wrapped in the colours of the American flag to blend perfectly into the Hyperstrong Match Sleeves of the new USA Women's home strip.
Onto the 'Striking Platinum' kit and it takes inspiration from the USWNT's impressive trophy cabinet that includes three world titles and four gold medal. A platinum design with gleaming elements. A blue left-side stripe and red right-side stripe run the length of the shirt with matching white shorts. Expanding when a player is in motion, the stripes maximise ventilation and reveal a contrasting flash of underlying red and blue, respectively.
The key difference you'll notice on the Olympic kit is the USA type instead of the normal U.S. soccer badge – this is to align with the tournament's uniform regulations but brings a sense of retro flavour to the jersey and that's never a bad thing in our book. A little bit Pro Evo 5 if anything. Created using Light-Flex technology, the type appears on the left chest of the shirt and right hem of the short. The same material articulates the Swoosh and the hue reappears on the kit’s Hyperstrong Match Sleeves. Gradually fading from white to blue, the sleeves extend colour to the player’s boot of choice from the exclusive Women’s Spark Brilliance Pack for an integrated head-to-toe look.
The USA National Team kits and Women’s Spark Brilliance Pack will be available from July 23.
