adidas F50 adiZero - Boot Spy Update
The adidas F50 adiZero football boots are the next edition in adidas' F50 series, set to be the lightest football boot the three stripes have ever released to date!
**UPDATE 04/04**
Messi and Higuain are already wearing them in training, but you need to head to the Bundesliga 2 to see the adidas F50 adiZero football boots in action - once again with Rot-Weiss Oberhausen. This time Moritz Stoppelkamp is the lucky player who is playing in a pair of the most wanted football boots.
From a distance the F50 adiZero football boots are cleverly disguised in black out form, but close up you can make out the horizontal three stripes that wrap around the ankle area, just under the heel collar. Also, these spy shots show the mixed sole plate of the SG version (unlike the FG version below) which features round tipped metal studs alongside the fixed PU studs.
Dubbed F50 adiZero, we're eagerly anticipating a return to the style, thinking and innovation that made the F-series so in demand in the first place. The major talking point is the lack of any TUNiT style components, chassis or stud changing, which makes this a boot aimed more at speed players, rather than tricksters or skill genuises than previous incarnations have tended to lean towards.
**UPDATE 24/03**
It's been a while since any new news on the F50 adiZero range, then two at once! First up is a regular Real Madrid training session featuring Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain, who was spied with the blacked out versions of the upcoming adidasF50 football boots...
Boot Spy kudos is currently winging its way to Minh-Luan Bui, who was the first into our inbox with this spot...
...followed by this excellent Boot Spy snap of Chelsea's Salamon Kalou (and mascot Stamford) who was spied taking a break from training with the adidas F50 adiZero boots on. Kudos to Faiz Predator (nice name btw) who was the first into the Inbox with this update.
**Update 10/01**
We often get sent shots of players play-testing new boots, and they are usually of the big names you'd expect to see. So imagine our surprise to find 2. Bundesliga player Patrick Schonfeld of Rot-Weiss Oberhausen play testing some adidas prototypes...
Such a spot gets a huge selection of Boot Spy kudos - so step forward Stefan Milbrodt who was the first to send in this spy snap. Do you want fame and Boot Spy kudos too?! It's easy, simply send your boot spotting gems to u2us@soccerbible.com with "Boot Spotting" as the subject...
The new F50 will launch as the lightest boot on the market, weighing an incredible 165g each. To be fair, this was inevitable with the bar firmly raised thanks to Nike's improvements on the Mercurial series over the last few seasons. However, here at the SoccerBible we've always been big fans of adidas' F-line of boots, so imagine our collective delight when we learnt that this new boot would have a nod to the awesome +F50 and F50+ lines from the mid-2000s.
For us at least, it was these F-series of boots that summed up speed players, with icons like Arjen Robben, Djibril Cisse and Harry Kewell (yes, Harry Kewell) lighting up pitches with awesome pace and acceleration - the original defender's nightmare! Of course, we'd love to show you some photos of the adiZero's but we promised adidas we'd be good and keep them hidden away for now.
Expect to see plenty more about these boots as the weeks and months go on...and stay tuned to Boot Spy and the SoccerBible where you can rest assured we have all the upfront and vital information around one of the most anticipated soccer shoes of 2010!
