Another Player Switches into Tiempo
It seems the rumours we've been hearing about Nike allocating silo's to different playing positions are becoming true, after another player was spotted changing his footwear. This time it's England defender Micah Richards, spotted in training wearing the very classy looking White/Gold Nike Tiempo Legend Elite football boots.
Richards has previously been wearing the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots, and a move into the Tiempo Elite's would add further weight to the argument that Nike players are moving into boot silo's more befitting of their playing position.
Richards has yet to competitively wear the Nike Tiempo Elite's, but if he does he'll join players like Patrice Evra who've also made the move into the boot launched by Barcelona defender Gerard Pique. Other players to switch boots include strikers Alexandre Pato, Marouane Chamakh and Gonzalo Higuain, all of whom have moved into the Nike T90 Laser IV, definitely a strikers boot and launched by Fernando Torres and Wayne Rooney.
Whether or not this is a conscious decision by Nike, what are your feelings to the idea of Tiempo as a defenders boot, Maestri for midfielders, Mercurials for wingers and Total 90 for strikers up front? Share your opinions with the SoccerBible community online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
