Mario Gotze Trains In New Nike GS?
Following the frantic sell-out of the Nike GS we had a feeling we hadn't seen the last of the super-light speed boots. Mario GÖtze has re-ignited fresh rumours that Nike could be preparing to land a second drop very soon.
The highly rated midfielder could become the selected European to front the second instalment of the Nike GS. Neymar was used as the face of the GS during the Olympic Games, but with the Brazilian back in his homeland, Nike need a new poster-boy.
Spec-wise, GÖtze's blacked out boots look very similar to the Nike GS model launched back in August. If this is Nike's second instalment of the GS, we don't predict any major changes in design. Something we could see brought to the boot would be Nike's ACC technology - a feature currently used on all four of Nike's silos.
Other immediate differences include the central spine of the sole-unit which appears in white. With the GS, Nike created the lightest and greenest boot in its history. Don't expect any performance changes. Any changes are likely to be visual with a new colourway presumably lined up to meet the public demand.
A new Nike GS could be just around the corner. Let us know if you think this would be a good move from Nike and if GÖtze's the right man for the boots. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
