Kyle Walker In Nike Switch - To Wear T90
After three years of loyal service, the time has come for Kyle Walker to leave the Double Diamonds and move into the mighty American Swoosh. Walker has confirmed on Twitter he'll no longer be wearing Umbro, and has revealed the Nike boots he'll be wearing instead...
A faithful Umbro player for a number of years, Walker has worn an eclectic mix of Umbro football boots since 2009 including; SX Valor, SX Flare, Stealth Pro, Speciali, Stealth Pro II, GT Pro and more recently the GT Pro II. But with the demise of Umbro it was just a matter of time until the Tottenham and England star had to find a new boot supplier, or rather a new boot supplier came knocking.
Walker was spotted in training recently testing out a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapors, and after wearing a speed boot with Umbro, it would've seemed a natural progression to move into Nike's speed silo. Surprisingly this is not the case, as Walker has tweeted a picture of the new Nike T90 Laser football boots he will be debuting in his next Tottenham performance.
Walker is not the only Tottenham player changing up his footwear though, as boot eccentric Benoit Assou-Ekotto (a man known for wearing different boots on each foot!) has been wearing a new pair of Under Armour cleats. Following their sponsorship deal with the club we expected to see a couple of Tottenham players sporting UA, and Assou-Ekotto is wearing what appears to be the new Blur Pro - the most likely candidate for an update.
Sad times for Umbro, yet intriguing boot choices from both Walker and Assou-Ekotto. Let us know what you think of Walker's choice to wear T90, and the look of the potential new Under Armour Blur football boots? Share your opinions and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
