The boots that currently have us soaking up the sun in Rio de Janeiro - check out our Twitter for live updates - have been spotted on the feet of England striker Wayne Rooney. The man poised to become one of the lead athletes of Nike's upcoming HyperVenom silo has been snapped training in his new boots.
Before Rooney and his England team mates jet out to Rio for their friendly fixture with 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil next week, the Nike athlete has been enjoying some time in the anticipated HyperVenom. The arrival of the Nike HyperVenom brings an end to the T90 era - a boot that Rooney fronted for the best part of his career.
After a relatively quiet start to the year, the Nike machine is about to shift into top gear. Wayne Rooney has been a core athlete for Nike Football since his teenage years, but now finds himself sharing the stage with a new breed of attacking players. Samba superstar Neymar will be the global face of the HyperVenom with Rooney also adding his stock to the new silo.
The distinctive orange black boots will be the opening colourway launched in the HyperVenom series and will be worn on pitch for the first time in England's friendly against Brazil on June 2. Other players expected to step into the HyperVenom boots include Robert Lewandowski, Alexis Sanchez, Gonzalo Higuain Danny Welbeck.
