The 2013 boot calendar might be coming to a close, but Nike are signing off the year with a bang. Ahead of the official launch of the Nike Tiempo Legend V, some of Europe's leading players have given us an early on-pitch look at the next generation Tiempo ahead of this weeks UCL fixtures.

The likes of Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique Maxwell joined Premier League trio Jonny Evans, Antonio Valencia Ashley Cole in giving their new boots a run-out. Each have been training in the upcoming launch colourway that's expected to land later this week.

The fifth generation Nike Tiempo Legend will succeed the popular Legend IV - a boot that's been on the market since mid 2011. The much anticipated Tiempo Legend V has been in the making for the best part of two and a half years and will become Nike's most advanced heritage-based boot yet.

Barcelona defenders and long term Tiempo players Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol gave us a good look at their personalised boots, while Cesc Fabregas also gave us a glimpse at his PUMA evoPOWER prototypes - a boot that's expected to land in the new year.

The vivid two-tone design creates a unique look that sets the Tiempo Legend V apart from previous generations. The outstep and forefoot of the boot has been given an off-white colouring, while the contrasting instep is plastered in a bright orange and the tongue is coated in a metallic silver. A unique design that when seen side-by-side creates the look of odd boots.

It's a bright launch colourway for the Nike Tiempo Legend V that packs redesigned visuals and concepts. The full spec lowdown will be revealed when the boots officially landso stay tuned to SoccerBible for your first in depth look at the new Nike Tiempo Legend V.

Update | After appearing in training earlier in the week the new Nike Tiempo Legend V made an unexpected and premature on-pitch debut last night in the Champions League. With the boot yet to be officially revealed, players including Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng, Benfica's Luisao Silva and Juventus' Carlos Tevez all laced up in the next-gen Tiempo.

The vibrant orange instep stood out on TV screens and from stadium seats as the new Tiempo takes on a much more distinctive display than the previous editions. With the remaining set of Champions League group matches taking place tonight we're expecting Gerard Pique, Ashley Cole and Carles Puyol to all lace up in the Tiempo Legend V.
