Global Boot Spotting

THE PICK OF THE WEEK'S BEST FOOTBALL BOOTS FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE

Issa Cissokho

Issa Cissokho (Nantes) adidas adizero F50

Issa Cissokho became one of the first pros we've spotted to lace up in the latest Messi signature F50 (apart from the man himself of course). The Nantes full back doesn't quite possess the same tekkerz as Barca's number ten, perhaps he's just a big fan of Messi, or simply digs the crazy design.

Marc-Antoine Fortune

Wigan only went and did it again at the weekend. The magic of the FA Cup is far from dead as the holders, who are now in the Championship, proved that if you put in 100% you get rewards. Marc-Antoine Fortune lead the line in his Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Fast Forward Editions as Wigan dumped Manchester City out of the Quarter Finals to book a date with Arsenal at Wembley.

Gabriel Paletta

Gabriel Paletta (Parma) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

Parma's Gabriel Paletta had been wearing the orange/black Nike CTR360 Maestri III colourway up until this month when he's suddenly decided to black out his boots. If he did in fact have a contract with the brand then this could indicate that it has expired, or alternatively he may have blacked them out if he was unsigned to draw Nike's attention in hope of a deal.

Juan Roman Riquelme

Argentinian veteran Juan Roman Riquelme has been wearing the first generation adidas adiPURE this season. Originally launched in 2007 the adiPURE series have now been around seven years and Riquelme has been switching between the models since the very start.

Shlomi Arbeitman

Shlomi Arbeitman (Mons) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

One of the best custom boot designs we spotted this week came via the feet of Mons' Shlomi Arbeitman. The Israeli striker has whipped up a pair of red and white Nike Mercurial Vapor IX boots to match the Belgian Pro League team's home kit. Tidy kit/boot combo.

Mohannad Karrar

Mohannad Karrar (Iraq) adidas adizero F50

Iraq qualified for the Asia Cup this week after beating China. Mohannad Karrar stood out for us in the white/slime leather adidas adizero F50. The boot received a great reaction when released but somewhat slipped under the radar when adidas kept their athletes in the synthetic versions of brighter colourways.

Renaud Cohade

Renaud Cohade's gold/green F50's are a colour combo that was first released by adidas for the 2013 Cascadia Cup and worn by players of Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers. Chances are Cohade, has coincidentally created a pair on miadidas in the same colourway as a quick look at his career path shows he hasn't played for either of the MLS sides.

Salomon Rondon

Salomon Rondon (Zenit St Petersberg) Nike HyperVenom

Zenit's Salomon Rondon was laced up in one of the meanest looking custom jobs of the week. The Venezuelan striker's all black Nike HyperVenoms with a touch of volt on the laces and Swoosh created a stealth like look, which proved that sometimes less is more.

Fernandinho

Fernandinho (Brazil) adidas Predator LZ

Brazil's Fernandinho and Oscar became the first players to slip into the new Carnaval Pack released by adidas last week. The collection is inspired by the country's biggest festival and is designed using a feathered and ticker tape print on the range. The Premier League duo were sporting the Predator LZ editions as they hammered South Africa 5-0.
