THE PICK OF THE WEEK'S BEST BOOTS FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE.
Verónica Boquete Giadans (Spain) adidas Predator LZ
Spain striker Veronica Boquete Giadans was in action wearing a custom Predator LZ colourway at the weekend as she lined up against Italy in a FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 qualifier. The Spanish forward's custom paint job is a top match for her country's home colours. Girls eh, they're just more stylish than us aren't they?
Daniele De Rossi (Roma) adidas Nitrocharge
More of an excuse to show off De Rossi's quality tattoo to be honest but the Roma captain was wearing the new Nitrocharge colourway as his side beat Cagliari 3-1 on Sunday. Released as part of the new adidas 'Earth Pack' the boot is inspired by the colours of the Amazon Rainforest.
Tom Aldred (Accrington Stanley) Nike T90 Laser IV
As brands begin to land their new World Cup boot packs Accrington Stanley's Tom Aldred is still sporting his EURO 2012 'Clash Collection' T90 Laser IV boots. With the silo now discontinued the T90 is becoming a much rarer spot on pitch but the Accrington defender is currently stopping them from becoming extinct.
Iker Casillas (Real Madrid) adidas Predator LZ
Iker Casillas was handed a start during Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this week. The Madrid stopper turned out in the new 'Earth Pack' adidas Predator LZ colourway as he kept a clean sheet at the Bernabeu.
Gabriel Paletta (Parma) Nike CTR360 Maestri III
Gabriel Paletta has got hold of one of just 2500 pairs of 'Lights Out' CTR boot. Released earlier this week as the last ever CTR before the silo is retired in favour of the new Magista. Nike have turned the lights out on the CTR with a complete blackout design and the Parma man has wasted no time snapping up a pair.
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich) adidas adizero F50
Bayern Munich have taken their foot off the gas since clinching the Bundesliga title. The Champions League holders have now gone three games without a win after losing 1-0 to FC Augsburg at the weekend. Thomas Muller and Bastain Schweinsteiger both featured in their new 'Earth Pack' F50's but perhaps had one eye on their UCL QF 2nd leg against Man United this week.
Carl McHugh (Bradford City) Nike CTR360 Maestri III
Bradford's Carl McHugh will have to get busy making a few more custom CTR colourways before the silo is ended this summer. McHugh has created a simplistic white/black colourway but if he's thinking of staying in the silo next season he'll have to get ordering before the Magista lands.
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas Nitrocharge
We reckon Steven Gerrard was probably quite pleased with the new 'Earth Pack' Nitrocharge colourway. The Liverpool skipper is a self confessed fan of more toned down boots and slipped into the new drop as he slotted home two penalties to see off West Ham and return his side to the top of the Premier League.
Ahmed Alaedin (Al-Rayyan) Mizuno Morelia Neo
Mizuno landed the Morelia Neo in 2011 and it remains one of the most popular all leather speed boots on the market, weighing just 170g. Al-Rayyan' Ahmed Alaedin is currently still sporting the bright green launch colourway as he played in the AFC Champions League this week.
Mohammad Ghazi (Esteghlal) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX
To celebrate previous Mercurial Vapors from World Cups gone by Nike released four 'Fast Forward' editions on the current Vapor IX boot. One of those pairs, the 2002 inspired boot has made its way onto the feet of Esteghlal's Mohammad Ghazi.
Zhang Xizhe (Beijing Guoan) adidas Predator LZ
Another of adidas' pre-World Cup boot collections was the 'Carnaval Pack'. Inspired by the ticker tape and feathers seen at Brazil's biggest festival the Carnaval Pack landed with unique visuals but has very rarely featured on pitch. We've had to search hard to find a player wearing the collection but we did eventually pick out Zhang Xizhe wearing the Predator LZ versions.
Jordan Smith (Coventry City) Nike Magista
The first competitive action for the Nike Magista came from an unlikely player this week. Coventry's Jordan Smith laced up in the innovative new boot as the under 21's took on Derby. That's all we're getting at the moment as the Magista isn't scheduled to appear on pitch until the World Cup in June.
Gary Cahill (Chelsea) adidas Predator LZ
Recently Gary Cahill switched out of the Predator LZ and into the adizero F50, why? Well that seems apparent now, he doesn't like pink boots. Cahill, not so coincidentally switched out of the Pred at the time the Samba colourway landed and has now switched into the Earth Pack colourway on the first weekend it was on pitch.
