World Cup done, pre-season begun, here's what boots have caught our attention this week.
Mario Götze (Germany) Nike Magista Obra
There's only one place to start this week. Mario Götze came off the bench to score the winning goal in the Nike Magista for Germany. In a tournament where the majority of players opted away from the Flyknit technology Götze followed Nike's script by notching the biggest goal of the tournament in the Swoosh's headline tournament boot.
Kevin Nolan (West Ham United) adidas 11Pro
West Ham kicked off their pre-season friendly fixtures with a trip to Stevenage. Many of the Hammers first team turned out in the upcoming adidas boot updates including skipper Kevin Nolan who laced up in the next 11Pro colourway scheduled for release later this week.
Mark Noble (West Ham United) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0
Mark Noble joined Nolan in the new adidas updates by slipping into the next Nitrocharge release. Designed with the same Battle Pack pattern used in the World Cup this colourway will be worn by Nitrocharge players to kick off the 2014/15 season.
Stewart Downing (West Ham United) adidas adizero F50
Ok, this weeks boot spotting is a bit Hammer heavy but we couldn't leave out Stewart Downing wearing the currently unreleased adidas adizero F50 colourway. You won't have to wait long to see more of the vibrant design as we'll bring you a full detailed look when adidas officially launch their new pack towards the end of this week.
Conrad Balatoni (Partick Thistle) Pantofola d'Oro Sirio
Partick Thistle got their pre-season schedule underway by taking on Brighton in Spain. The pick of the boot spotting action was undoubtably Conrad Balatoni's Lazio colourway of the Pantofola d'Oro Sirio boots. We make no secret of our love for Pantofola and we're hoping we see more on pitch this season.
Bakary Sako (Wolves) Nike HyperVenom
Wolves began preparations for life back in the Championship with a friendly against Cheltenham Town. Bakary Sako turned out in a similar boot to the Neymar exclusive gold HyperVenom, a boot which was worn for just 45 minutes in Brasil and now belongs to the 2014 World Cup museum. Sako however must have missed out on grabbing a pair off the shelves and has designed his own pair with a black Swoosh to match up with the Wolves home kit.
Thomas Lemar (Caen) adidas Predator Instinct
Predator traditionalists will be pleased to the know that the next Pred Instinct colourway will be black/white/red. It may not feature a tongue and it may still have the Battle Pack print but this colourway will be the closest yet to the Predators of old.
Scott Fox (Partick Thistle) Joma Propulsion 3.0
Partick Thistle stopper Scott Fox was sporting a pair of Joma Propulsion 3.0 boots against Brighton at the weekend. the boots were released to celebrate the 2014 World Cup but have seen almost zero player uptake up until now. Scotland, Brasil. Tomato, tomato. That phrase doesn't really work written does it...
Jake Mawford (Weston-Super-Mare) adidas Predator Powerswerve
Bristol City took on semi-pro outfit West-Super-Mare at the weekend and the non-league side's Jake Mawford laced up in one of the modern Predator favourites. The Powerswerve was launched in 2008 as the last Pred with a tongue so Mawford has certianly got his moneys worth.
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Germany) adidas adizero F50
Bastain Schweinsteiger put in a monumental performance to help Germany lift the World Cup. Throughout the tournament the midfielder remained in the Earth Pack F50 rather than the Battle Pack and for the final Schweinsteiger personalised his boots with 'the chosen one'.
