The pick of the boot spotting action for the past 7 days.
Nicola Mancino (Casertana) adidas F50 adizero
One of the oldest boot spots of the week came via the feet of Nicola Mancino. The Casertana man laced up in the first ever F50 adizero model against Regina. The intense green/pink/black colourway was originally launched in November 2010.
Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) Puma evoSPEED 1.3
Arsenal began the season in the same way they ended the last campaign, by lifting some silverware at Wembley. Mikel Arteta was one of numerous Gooners wearing the special edition PUMA boots as Arsenal beat Man City 3-0 in the Community Shield.
Simone Pepe (Juventus) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0
Juve's Simone Pepe became the latest player to prematurely sport the second generation Nitrocharge at the weekend. Scheduled to be released later this week the Nitrocharge will drop in this toned down black colourway and a more eccentric, brighter paint job.
David Edwards (Wolves) adidas 11Pro
Wolves began life back in the Championship with a 1-0 win over Norwich on Sunday courtesy of David Edwards' solitary goal. The midfielder has created his own 11Pro colourway to kick off the new season, which reflects his side's home colours.
Ryan Giggs (Class of '92) Instante II Pro
Manchester United’s famed “Class of ’92” took on Salford City this week in a charity friendly. Giggs, Butt, Scholes and the Neville brothers own the non-league outfit and got turned over 5-1 by their employees. Giggs stayed true to his Reebok boots by wearing the Instante II Pro launched in June 2010.
Paulo Sergio (Bayern All-Stars) adidas F50 adizero
Another set of ex-pros in action last week were the Bayern old-boys who took on a team of Man United legends. Rather than reaching for his old boots Paulo Sergio slipped into the latest signature Messi F50 to roll back the years in.
Casper Nielsen (Esbjerg) Nike Magista Obra
The Nike Stealth Pack was one of the hottest releases of the summer and although Nike athletes will be wearing the brighter launch colourway lower league players have been getting their hands on the slick blackout design, including Esbjerg's Casper Nielsen.
David Silva (Manchester City) adidas 11Pro
David Silva began the new season wearing the latest adidas 11Pro colourway, a top match for City's home kit. Silva had previously worn the Predator, Nitrocharge and F50 last season and kicks off the 14/15 campaign by completing adidas' quartet of mainstream silos.
Besat Berisha (A-League All-Stars) adidas F50 adizero
adidas launched a black pack of their own during the off-season and the alternative tribal print F50 found its way onto the feet of Besat Berisha during the A-League All-Stars' friendly against Juventus.
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) adidas Predator Instinct
Steven Gerrard has returned into the adidas Predator this season after a year of wearing the Nitrocharge. The Liverpool captain has been reeled in by the traditional Pred colourway on the new Instinct and was in action wearing them in the Reds' 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Anfield.
Alexandre Pato (Sao Paulo) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV
Alexandre Pato has customised his Superfly IV boots much in the same style as Cristiano Ronaldo did at the 2014 World Cup. Rather than a tidy professional adjustment seen on CR7's footwear Pato looks to have taken matters into his own hands by cutting off the Dynamic Fit Collar to create a low-cut Superfly that still boasts a Flyknit upper and Carbon-Fiber sole-plate.
Andy Reid (Nottingham Forest) Nike Magista Opus
Nottingham Forest kicked off the season with a win over struggling Blackpool and the pick of the boot spots on show at the City Ground was Andy Reid's custom Nike Magista Opus colourway. The Forest playmaker has paired up his boot choice with Forest's home kit for a tidy all-round look.
Paul Pogba (Juventus) adidas Predator Instinct
Paul Pogba looks to have returned to adidas after a spell wearing the Nike CTR series. The end of the CTR silo looks to have sent Pogba on his way back to the Three Stripes after a pre-season wearing the new Predator Instinct.
