It's Monday, it's boot-spotting. Get stuck in as we bring you our selection of the best boots on show from planet football.
Pepe (Real Madrid) Umbro Speciali 4
Pepe has recently switched into the classic black and white Speciali 4 colourway. The Real Madrid defender cites Umbro as his favourite brand having worn them since he was headbutting and stamping on kids on the school playground. After a stint wearing Nike, Pepe is back in his beloved Double Diamonds to represent the brand in La Liga and the Champions League.
Jesus Chavez (Tijuana) adidas 11Pro
Tijuana players frequently feature in boot spotting due to the club's preference that their players should wear red boots to match the club's kit colours. This bizarre rule forces players to get creative with their footwear and often we see some classy professional custom jobs, or, we see a messy red design placed over the adidas 'Battle Pack' pattern on Jesus Chavez's feet.
Emile Sinclair (York City) Nike Magista Opus
Emile Sinclair showed Jesus Chavez how to do it properly by whipping up a custom pair of NikeiD Magista Opus boots. The York City striker obviously had his side's home kit in mind when creating the red/white colourway but they certainly stand out up against the away strip.
David Luiz (PSG) Nike Magista Obra
David Luiz had tampered with the instep of his Nike Magista Obra for Tuesday night's Champions League clash with ex-club Chelsea. Only the right foot had been modified leading us to believe that Luiz had placed some sort of friction material on his preferred foot to compliment his knuckle-ball styled free kick technique. Either that or he needs a new pair.
Samir Nasri (Manchester City) New Balance
Samir Nasri's New Balance boots took on a new look at the weekend. We've already seen Aaron Ramsey's and Adnan Januzaj's orange soled boots but the City midfielder was on the scoresheet against Newcastle wearing a whiteout version with light blue details, as the New Balance boot launch takes a step closer.
Roy Krishna (Wellington Phoenix) Lotto Zhero Gravity 2015
We first spotted Udinese's Danilo wearing a blacked out prototype of Lotto's new speed boot back in November 2014, but now Lotto are on the verge of releasing their 2015 Zhero Gravity after hooking Roy Krishna up with a pair at the weekend. The bold blue colourway combined with slick graphics look impressive on first sight as Lotto try and send the silo back down the right track.
Maxime Penneteau (France) adidas Predator Instinct
One of the hottest custom colourways of the week came via the feet of France U16's player Maxime Penneteau. The French youngster was in action against Slovakia at England's St George's Park wearing a bright volt/black Predator Instinct paint job on top of the distinctive Battle Pack print. A decent little match up with his captain's armband.
Ricky Holmes (Northampton) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR Galaxy
Northampton Town's Ricky Holmes was laced up in arguably one of Cristiano Ronaldo's best signature Mercurials against York City at the weekend. The Mercurial Vapor IX CR Galaxy was originally launched in October 2013 and was designed to represent his 'out of this world' ability with its space-esque visuals. Ronaldo's that is, not Holmes.
Pablo Zeballos (Atletico Nacional) adidas F50 adizero
We've only seen a handful of players rep the adidas 'Hunt Series' since its launch in November last year as adidas opted to keep their professional players out of the collection. OK, the whole glow-in-dark tech is a bit of a novelty but the boots still look strong on pitch, as demonstrated by Atletico Nacional's goalscorer at the weekend, Pablo Zeballos.
Jeremy Pied (Guingamp) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV
One the the messier custom boots on show this week was on the feet of Jeremy Pied. The Guingamp man pimped up his footwear with a bright red colourway on the upper complimented with matching laces as his side beat 9-man Dynamo Kiev 2-1 in the first leg of their Europa League tie.
Danny Graham (Sunderland) Umbro UX-1
Umbro are more than back in the game this season with the impressive Velocita silo that's converting more players into wearing the brand, Danny Graham being one. The Sunderland striker has been spotted in the lightweight silo but switched into the UX-1 at the weekend as his side drew 0-0 with West Brom.
Romeo Castelen (Western Sydney Wanderers) adidas 11Pro SL
Romeo Castelen became the first player to be spotted in the SL version of the new-generation adidas 11Pro this week. The 11Pro SL was one of the first boots off the adidas 2015 bus and its bold, split-patterned design installs it as one of the hottest from the 11Pro series so far.
