It's Monday, it's boot-spotting. Get stuck in as we bring you our selection of the best boots on show from planet football.
Lionel Messi (Barcelona) adidas F50 adizero
Leo Messi slipped into his latest signature F50 adizero this week. With a design inspired by his hometown of Rosario in Argentina, the Barca number 10 made it two wins in two wearing his Pibbe de Barr10 boots, knocking Manchester City out of the Champions League before beating Real Madrid 2-1 in el clasico on Sunday night.
Pepe (Real Madrid) Umbro Speciali IV
Pepe flew the Umbro flag in el clasico by lacing up in the latest "White/Black/Clematis Blue" Specilai IV colourway against Barcelona. Pepe has switched back to the Double Diamonds after a stint in Nike and has opted for the traditional Speciali silo, a boot he wore at the beginning of his career, rather than the new UX-1 or Velocita.
Yosuke Kashiwagi (Urawa Red Diamonds) adidas 11Pro
We've seen plenty of miadidas Predator and F50 designs but rarely a custom 11Pro on pitch, Urawa Red's Yosuke Kashiwagi showed how it can be done with a top looking colour combo on the silo. Kashiwagi has used the split template to create a tidy black/red paint job to tie in with his side's home colours.
Mehdi Taremi (Persepolis) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII
Another player sporting a pair of custom designed boots this week was Mehdi Taremi. The Persepolis man also went for the in-line kit/boot combo by customising his Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII boots with a clean white/red colourway with matching red laces as his side lost 3-0 in the AFC Champions League group A match.
Kevin Kampl (Borussia Dortmund) Puma evoSPEED 1.3
PUMA look to be on the verge of agreeing a deal with another Borussia Dortmund player as Kevin Kampl has been spotted wearing a blacked out version of the evoSPEED 1.3 in recent weeks. Kampl, not to be confused with the ex-Everton striker, was previously wearing the new-generation F50 adizero but looks set to swap the stripes for the big cat.
Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) adidas F50 adizero
Gareth Bale gave his exclusive "White/Black" F50 adizero boots a debut in el clasico on Sunday night. The Welshman has been itching to switch into the colourway for some months now as he's patiently trained in them and adidas used the clasico as the stage for Bale to show them off. Decent pairing with the Real Madrid home kit, shame we didn't see much of them with Bale a spectator for much of the game.
Daisuke Suzuki (Kashiwa Reysol) Under Armour Clutchfit
There's a bit of a kit/boot combo theme going on this week as Daisuke Suzuki joined in on the action with his bright yellow Under Armour Clutchfit Force boots tying in nicely with Kashiwa Reysol's colours. We can't say we've seen the colourway anywhere else before so we're take a punt on them being a Far East exclusive or a custom job.
Courtney Sweetman-Kirk (Doncaster Belles) adidas Predator Instinct
The craziest custom colourway of the weekend goes to Doncaster Belles player Courtney Sweetman-Kirk who had just abut everything going on with her miadidas Predator Instinct boots. Eye-catching? Very. Can we see Sweetman-Kirk becoming a designer for adidas when she finishes playing? Probably not...
Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV
Another signature boot, another CR7 clasico goal. Giving a new meaning to the phase "Twinkle Toes" Ronaldo gave a debut to his shimmering eighth signature Mercurial on Sunday night and took just 31 minutes to open his account in the "Silverware" edition, but this time it wasn't the winner for Nike and CR7 as a second half Luis Suarez goal saw him and Madrid leave the Nou Camp empty handed.
Shomurodov Ilkhom (Nasaf Qarshi) adidas 11Pro Crazylight
The adidas Crazylight pack received very limited player support when it was released in October 2014 but a pair occasionally pops up in the less high-profile leagues across the world. Weighing in at 80g less the the standard edition 11Pro Ilkhom's Crazylight boots offered a light ride and a graphic design worthy of the title "Crazylight".
Perez Garcia (San Jose Earthquakes) adidas F50 adizero
Another top kit/boot combo. Arguably one of the best F50 adizero colourways on the market at the moment is the women's specific blue/white drop. The paint job would no doubt be a popular one should it hit the men's game and the women's tag hasn't put off San Jose Earthquakes' Perez Garcia from bagging a pair. Whether football boots are the only women's footwear that Garcia owns remains unclear.
