It's the week in boots. Get stuck in as we bring you our selection of the best boots on show from planet football over the past 7 days.
Davy Klaassen (Ajax) Nike Hypervenom
You won't see many better kit/boot combinations this season than the new Nike 'Intense Heat' Hypervenom and Ajax's adidas away kit. The bold "Volt/Persian Violet" matches up almost perfectly with the Ajax away shorts as the Stripes and Swoosh align, as Davy Klaassen demonstrated at the weekend.
Memphis Depay (PSV) Under Armour
Under Armour couldn't have chosen a better time to sign Memphis Depay. The PSV man scored another brace against Twente at the weekend wearing his blacked-out, unreleased Under Armour silo and will no doubt be a key transfer target for many of Europe's big Champions League clubs this summer. Whoever he goes to will have some player on their hands but for Under Armour, he's already their signing of the season.
Mario Götze (Bayern Munich) Nike Magista Obra
That World Cup Final goal instantly installed Mario Götze at the face of the Magista. Whereas other players have moved out of the Dynamic Fit Collar and into the Opus silo, Götze has stuck with the Obra and switched into the 'Intense Heat' colourway to come off the bench in Bayern's 1-0 win over Dortmund on Saturday.
Lionel Mathis (Guingamp) adidas Kaiser 5 Cup
adidas spiced up their classics collection in December 2014 by dropping a trio of Kaiser 5 Cup colourways. The boot, seen as many by a takedown to the adidas World Cup, received almost zero pro player uptake until Guingamp's Lionel Mathis got hold of the royal blue pair this week. We've got plenty of time for that old-school wrap around laces technique Mathis has got going on there too.
Ryo Miyaichi (Twente) Nike Mercurial Vapor X
On-loan Arsenal man Ryo Miyaichi was on the wrong end of a 5-0 scoreline at the weekend but he was another whose home colours tied in sweetly with the new 'Intense Heat' pack. The "Bright Crimson/Persian Violet" upper completed a smart overall look with the Twente kit as Nike rolled out their latest on-pitch line-up over the Easter period.
Loic Remy (Chelsea) Nike Tiempo Legend V
Loic Remy gave a goalscoring start to his new wheels on Saturday as Chelsea took a step closer to the Premier League title. Scoring his side's winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Stoke City Remy was laced up in the "Laser Orange" Tiempo Legend V, another bold member of the Nike 'Intense Heat' pack.
Kevin Kuranyi (Dinamo Moscow) adidas F50 adizero
Another more deliberate kit/boot combo this week was in the Russian Premier League. Dinamo Moscow's Kevin Kuranyi was sporting his customised 2012/13 F50 adizero colourway. The white leather upper hosts finishing touches of blue on the stripes and tongue to align it with Kuranyi's Dinamo Moscow colours.
Sergio Busquets (Barcelona) Nike Magista Opus
Barcelona remained top of La Liga with a 1-0 win at Celta Vigo at the weekend and amongst a number of Catalans in the new 'Intense Pack' was Sergio Busquets sporting the "Total Orange" Magista Opus. Continuing the match-up theme Nike must have had Barca's away strip in mind when designing their latest set of boot colourways.
Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution) adidas Predator Instinct
When the whiteout and blackout adidas Predator Instinct colourways landed in August last year we assumed there would be mass player support from those not contracted to the brand. The reality was that although they were snapped up in stores quickly not many made it onto the pro scene although New England Revolution's Lee Nguyen was one of few who took the plunge on the whiteouts. Clean.
Faye Bryson (Everton) adidas Nitrocharge
One of the boot spots of the weekend came in the Women's Super League as Everton's Faye Bryson slipped into the K-Leather adidas Nitrocharge. The Three Stripes signed off 2014 in majestic style by landing beautiful kangaroo leather uppers across their silo collection, including the limited edition 'Pure Leather' Nitrocharge, which saw the removal of the trademark Energysling to play into the title of the collection.
Marcos Rojo (Manchester United) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV
Not many centre halves opt for the Mercurial Superfly as their boot of choice. The Superfly is regarded for speed players, wingers, forwards but that hasn't stopped Man United defender Marcos Rojo getting involved. The Argentinean was on show at Old Trafford wearing the new "Bright Crimson" design as Aston Villa left Manchester empty handed.
Lauren Holiday (USA) Under Armour Clutchfit
Lauren Holiday and Lori Chalupny were the pick of the boot spots in the USWNT's 4-0 win over New Zealand. Holiday was laced up in the women's specific Under Armour Clutchfit Force colourway while Chalupny's chioce of footwear was the "Solar Blue" adidas F50 adizero, again specifically designed for the women's game.
