It's Monday, it's boot-spotting. Get stuck in as we bring you our selection of the best boots on show from planet football.
James Rodriguez (Colombia) adidas ACE15.1
Colombia's Copa America dream was ended by Argentina on penalties at the weekend. To mark the quarter final adidas presented 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner James Rodriguez with a custom gold pair of ACE15.1 boots to lace up in, the first custom colourways we've seen land on the new adidas silos.
Jeff Callebaut (Gent) Nike Hypervenom
The Nike Academy Pack saw one of the final versions of the first-generation Hypervenom boot. Released with an all-over black design the Academy Pack was inspired by the rules surrounding youth set ups worldwide and was a huge hit with players who prefer the traditional boot vibe including Gent's Jeff Callebaut.
Sarah Bouhaddi (France) adidas X15.1
The French Ladies were also on the wrong end of penalty shoot-out drama on Friday night as Sarah Bouhaddi failed to keep out any German spot-kicks. One of the hottest boots on show at the Women's World Cup in Canada this summer is the women's specific adidas X15.1 due to it's simplistic colourway which is far more subtle than the launch editions.
Lauren Holiday (USA) Under Armour Clutchfit
USA will take their place in the Women's World Cup Semi-Finals after beating Colombia and China in the knockout stages. If selected Lauren Holiday will lace up against Germany in her special edition Under Armour Clutchfit boots drenched in the colours of the American flag.
Fernando Gago (Argentina) Nike Magista Opus
Fernando Gago is keeping things old school at the 2015 Copa America by wearing a pair of all black Nike Magista Opus boots. The all-over stealth-like design is normally reserved for prototype versions of a boot but Gago has snagged a pair to wear competitively while taking advantage of having no sponsor.
Lena Goessling (Germany) Puma evoSPEED 1.4
PUMA's fourth-generation evoSPEED landed this week with a brand new set of visuals and technology. Kicking off their next phase PUMA dropped the boot in an SL edition, both in leather and synthetic which arrived as the brand's lightest ever football boot. Lena Goessling was amongst many players sporting a pair of the standard issues in the WWC quarter finals this weekend.
Jill Scott (England) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX
England midfielder Jill Scott put in a battling performance as her side beat Canada to reach the WWC semi finals for the first time at the weekend. The Man City player was wearing the 2006 Fast Forward edition of the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX, a boot inspired by R9's signature silo from the 2006 World Cup.
Sergio Aguero (Argentina) Puma evoSPEED SL CAMO
When PUMA get busy with the CAMO treatment to disguise their latest evoSPEED boots Sergio Aguero is always their go to man to lace up in them. Having left his 3D glasses in the changing rooms Aguero switched into the limited edition boot as Argentina trained ahead of their Copa America quarter final this weekend.
Alexander Scholz (Denmark) adidas World Cup
Who said kids these days only wear bright boots? Denmark U21 defender Alexander Scholz was having none of that fluorescent stuff this week as he opted for the mother of all old school football boots, the adidas World Cup. With the progression of limited edition, vibrant colourways and new materials the World Cup has a more distinguished place in the market than ever before.
Mizuho Sakagachi (Japan) Mizuno Morelia
She's pretty much called Mizuno so the decision for Mizuho Sakagachi to lace up in the Morelia was destiny. Either than or she loves the perfect fit of one of the most comfortable leather boots on the planet. Either of those is a good enough reason for us. Next up for Japan? England in the semis.
Fred (Fluminense) adidas F50 adizero
Another player reaching for the blackouts this week was Brazilian striker Fred. With his contract with adidas now expired the Fluminense forward has opted to colour in his adidas F50 adizero boots to alert other brands to his availability or because he doesn't fancy giving adidas any free publicity. They're a strange breed, footballers.
