Global Boot Spotting

It's Monday, it's boot-spotting. Get stuck in as we bring you our selection of the best boots on show from planet football.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Two games, zero goals for Cristiano Ronaldo in his new signature Mercurial Superfly. That's enough to count as a drought by his high standards. Nike are marking Ronaldo's incredible achievements with a series of seven Mercurial Superfly CR7 boots. The first volcanic installment hit the pitches this week in the shape of 'Savage Beauty'.

Ryan Blake

The magic of the FA Cup First Round was in full flow this weekend as Southern Premier Division side Chesham knocked out League Two Bristol Rovers, a side 75 places above them in the pyramid. Ryan Blake, who matched up his team's away colours with the solar yellow adidas F50 adizero was the hero scoring a second half winner to send the non-leaguers into the hat for round two.

Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City) Mizuno Basara 101

Shinji Okazaki has been wearing the next-generation Mizuno Basara model for the last few weeks as Leicester continue their emphatic start to the season. The Japanese international is the only noteworthy Basara player in the Premier League and his appearance in the latest model points towards an imminent release.

Harry Kane

All football clubs in England marked Remembrance Day with poppies on their shirts this week but a number of players went a step further by personalising their boots with the symbol. England striker Harry Kane was showing his respect on his Hypervenom II as his goal earned Spurs a North London Derby point in a game which they dominated for large spells.

The adidas Kaiser 5 colour collection arrived in December 2014, ruffled a few feathers and was then quickly forgotten about. Playing understudy to the famous Copa Mundial the Kaiser 5 Liga was overlooked on the professional scene but Adelaide United's Tiarn Powell laced up in the 'Power Red' option this week.

Anderson Naula

With Umbro having a strong South American presence it was no surprise to see a number of Ecuador youngsters sporting the Double Diamond at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile. Anderson Naula was in action wearing the Velocita launch colourway in his nation's quarter final with Mexico.

John Fleck
John Fleck

John Fleck (Coventry) Nike Tiempo Legend V

John Fleck's simplistic blue/white rendition of the Nike Tiempo Legend V was a steady contender for boot/kit combo of the week. The Scotsman neatly matched up his footwear with Coventry City's famous sky blue and white home colours as they crashed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle with a 2-1 defeat to ex-landlords Northampton.

Blagoy Georgiev is another player who has been busy getting creative on NikeiD. The Rubin Kazan man was in action against Liverpool in the Europa League wearing his all red Tiempo Legend V with gold Swooshes on the medial side of the boot. Tasty.

Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg) Mizuno Morelia Neo

Lead Mizuno asset Hulk has moved into the next and currently unreleased Morelia Neo colourway. The big Zenit striker was sporting a typically clean white/dark blue edition of the speed boot which has been going strong now for almost four years. If it ain't broke...

Ruben Gabrielsen

Ruben Gabrielsen (Molde) Nike Mercurial Vapor III

The throwback of the week was undoubtedly on the feet of Molde's Ruben Gabrielsen who was laced up in the all white edition of the Nike Mercurial Vapor III. A classic from the series that was originally launched in 2006 and coming up to a monumental tenth anniversary. Great effort by Gabrielsen to keep it current seeing as though it has been overtaken by seven updates.

Yannick Bolasie

The final whistle of this week's boot spotting comes in the same form as the first. Whereas Ronaldo has struggled to open his goal-scoring account Yannick Bolasie wasted no time in scoring in the 'Savage Beauty' editions as Palace beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield. Bolasie has one of the biggest boot collections in professional football, as we found out in SoccerBible Magazine Issue 4, and the 'Savage Beauty' drops in as his latest addition.
