Chantelle Ryder (Adelaide United) adidas Gloro 16.1
Chantelle Ryder has wasted no time snapping up a pair of the second-generation adidas Gloro boots. Dropping in a selection of four colourways last week the Gloro 16.1 landed tongue-less and Ryder slipped into the red editions in Adelaide United's 4-0 defeat to Canberra on Saturday.
Jose Mourinho (Chelsea) adidas Prototype
He wouldn't have been our first guess to be spotted testing out a new adidas concept but Jose Mourinho laced up in an unreleased adidas project this week. We use the term 'laced-up' loosely as the prototype, which is scheduled for release in 2016, barely features any laces at all with a slip-on design and will play a prominent role in the 2016 make-up of adidas Football.
Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) Puma evoSPEED SL
PUMA have their new year preparations in order too with Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann giving a competitive run out to the next-generation evoSPEED SL boot. Usually reserved for training whilst the brand apply the finishing touches, Griezmann put his blacked out boots straight into action against Benfica in the Champions League.
Emre Can (Liverpool) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV
Emre Can's current contract with adidas looks to have expired and whilst he's busy finalising details on a new one the Liverpool midfielder isn't prepared to give the brand any free coverage. Rather than remaining in the X 15.1 Can has switched into the Mercurial Superfly IV and removed the Swoosh to keep adidas somewhat sweet in the mean time.
Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona) adidas ACE 15+ Primeknit
The launch of the adidas Black & White pack last week saw the vast majority of adidas contracted players overlook the Primeknit editions by moving into the X 15.1 and ACE 15.1 standard versions. Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic however was one of a few players who opted for the top-end release, complete with tidier black laces to complete the monochrome design.
Alexander Hleb (BATE Borisov) Puma V1.06
Serial scruffster Alexander Hleb was back in Champions League action this week with his socks offending viewers worldwide. What did make up for those saggy low-lying socks however was Hleb's choice of boots in the PUMA V1.06, a boot that launched way back in 2006 - that's almost an entire decade ago.
Mark Bridge (Western Sydney Wanderers) Puma evoACCURACY MB45
Western Sydney Wanderers' Mark Bridge opted for one of the lesser-spotted limited editions this week as he took on the PUMA evoACCURACY MB45. A boot that was designed as a signature drop for Mario Balotelli but failed to secure much on pitch time due to Balotelli's poor form at Liverpool. Still, the idea was nice.
Mark Little (Bristol City) adidas X 15.1
Bristol City edged away from the Championship relegation zone with a 2-1 victory away at fellow strugglers Huddersfield on Saturday. The pick of the boot spotting action came via the feet of City's Mark Little who whipped up his own take on the adidas X 15.1 - an all red design to match his side's home strip.
Stefan Johansen (Celtic) adidas ACE 15.1
Stefan Johansen has provided us with a couple of custom ACE 15.1 designs in recent months and the Celtic man is at it again by creating a simplistic White/Black edition of the boot. Johansen's tidy little number is a big step away from the purple and orange design he had been wearing on international duty with Norway recently.
Paul Pogba (Juventus) adidas Prototype
Paul Pogba's colossal boot collection grew by another this weekend as the Juventus midfielder wore one of adidas' key 2016 products. The complete laceless design is still in its prototype phase but Pogba has now been spotted trialing a couple of different variations on what is set to be adidas' next big innovation.
