Global Boot Spotting

Iker Casillas (Porto) adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol

Iker Casillas went all out with the ACE update by slipping on the ACE 16+ Purecontrol boots and pairing them up with the new ACE Zones gloves in matching "Solar Green". Designed to offer the cleanest strike possible on the ball, it's no surprise to see goalkeepers take an interest in the laceless technology, which will no doubt serve a purpose from goal kicks.

Neymar (Barcelona) Nike Mercurial Vapor X

Last week Nike launched an exclusive design for Neymar in the form of the “Ousadia Alegria” Hypervenom Phantom II and announced that the Barca man would wear them at the weekend against Atletico Madrid. The version that Neymar did in fact wear was a heavily modified Mercurial Vapor X disguised in the “Ousadia Alegria” print.

Juan Mata
Juan Mata

Juan Mata (Man United) adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol

Juan Mata was quick to dig out the secondary ACE 16+ Purecontrol colourway on Friday night as Man United beat Derby 3-1 in the FA Cup fourth round. A much lower key design than the loud launch drop, Mata's footwear featured a black upper with "Solar Green" stripes and pink pull tag. A slick colour combo but one that adidas will prefer to keep their players out of, in favour of the brighter launch edition.

Jonathan Hogg

Jonathan Hogg (Huddersfield) Umbro UX 2.0

The Velocita has built a healthy following of players throughout professional football but Umbro's control silo, the UX 2.0, has seen far fewer numbers take a punt on it. Huddersfield's Jonathan Hogg laced up in the second-generation boot at the weekend as his side lost 3-2 at home to Cardiff City.

Evie Clarke

Evie Clarke (England) Puma King Top Di 1982

Evie Clarke was representing her country in style this week as she turned out for England U19's in a pair of PUMA King Top Di 1982 boots. A boot that dropped in 2012, the bright red design was inspired by the 82' King and released 30 years later to capture the classic PUMA style and celebrate the rich history of the brand.

Paul Pogba (Juventus) adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol

On the verge of signing for the brand on official terms, Paul Pogba remained in his blackout ACE 16+ Purecontrol boots this weekend. Pogba was the first player to wear the boot and has in turn become something of an unofficial face of the innovative design. Expect him to complete his adidas deal and be in the official launch colourway come Champions League week.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) adidas X15+ Primeknit

Chelsea prodigy Ruben Loftus-Cheek impressed in his side's 5-1 rout over MK Dons on Sunday wearing the latest "Sonic Gold" adidas X15+ Primeknit. Loftus-Cheek is tipped for great things at Stamford Bridge and is one of a few young England hopefuls that adidas signed to front their next-generation approach around the time of their football revolution.

Dani Alves

Dani Alves (Barcelona) Nike Mercurial Vapor X

Dani Alves has a history of modifications on his boots and his latest custom design from Nike features a half laced edition of the Mercurial Vapor X. The Swoosh have removed the bottom few lace holes to create a unique concept that the Barca full back just laces up at the top, making the most of the one-piece upper.

Roberto Pereyra

Roberto Pereyra (Juventus) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV

Roberto Pereyra has been busy creating his own colourway of the Mercurial Superfly IV and he's pulled off an impressive job is you ask us. The Juventus man has been contracted with Nike for the past few seasons but has overlooked his supplied colourways to put his own touch on a pair to train in.
