On an historic footballing weekend of silverware, relegation and individual accolades we've scoured the globe to pick out the best of the boots on show as the domestic season winds down. Personalised pearls, custom creations and the rest of the randoms, you know the drill.
Kevin Molino (Orlando City) Under Armour Clutchfit
One of the hottest drops of March 2016 was the Under Armour "Batman vs Superman" collection, launched to celebrate the opening weekend of the film. A number of the boots made their way on pitch with Orlando City's Kevin Molino picking up the Clutchfit Force Superman edition, a boot that he's been wearing ever since.
Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City) Mizuno Basara 101
Shinji Okazaki switched into the new Mizuno Basara 101 colourway as Leicester City lifted the Premier League title at the King Power Stadium on Saturday night after beating Everton 3-1. The Japanese forward's work-rate has been instrumental in the Foxes success this season and he becomes just the second player from Japan to win the league – Shinji Kagawa being the first.
Luca Toni (Verona) Lotto Stadio Potenza Luca Toni
Luca Toni put a typically stylish end to his classy professional career at the weekend by scoring a Panenka penalty in a 2-1 win over Serie A champions Juventus. 38-year-old Toni was wearing his signature Lotto silo as he waved goodbye to a career that saw him win the 2006 World Cup along with the Italian and German league titles.
Donervon Daniels (Wigan) Umbro Velocita II
Wigan were confirmed as League One Champions at the weekend despite a 4-1 home defeat to Barnsley. Donavon Daniels was sporting a matching blue and white colourway of the Umbro Velocita II as the Latics celebrated an immediate return to the second tier of English football.
Jordan Silva (Toluca) Under Armour Speedform
Jordan Silva celebrated Mother's Day in the only way a footballer can by wearing the Under Armour Speedform boot designed and named specifically for the day itself. Memphis Depay was the first player to slip into the floral design in March but the Toluca man has followed suit as the special day was marked across other parts of the world.
Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) Nike Hypervenom Phantom II
The upper of the Hypervenom II has come under criticism this season with many players reverting to the first-generation upper. One man who has done just fine in the boot is Leicester City hitman Jamie Vardy. The England striker added a Premier League title to his boots on Saturday and marked the presentation celebrations with a brace in the club's final home game of the season.
Pepe (Real Madrid) Umbro Speciali Eternal
Pepe ensured Umbro will be represented at another Champions League Final this year by wearing the black and white Speciali Eternal in Real Madrid's 1-0 win over Manchester City at the Bernabeu. In amongst the split designs, multi-coloured, hi-top, limited editions Pepe stood out for all the right reasons in a beautifully old school boot built for the modern game.
William Alves (Vitoria Setubal) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0
Vitoria Setubal's William Alves took us back to November 2014 this week by slipping into the adidas 'Hunt Series' Nitrocharge boot. Although the Nitrocharge lived a very short life in the market it was significantly longer than the glow-in-the-dark technology that featured on this limited edition collection.
Yosuke Kashiwagi (Urawa Red Diamonds) adidas Gloro 16.1
Yosuke Kashiwagi got his custom game on this week by wearing a personalised colourway of the adidas Gloro 16.1 boot. Dipped in red, yellow and blue, the Urawa Red Diamonds man has created a mishmash of a design that takes on a bold presence on the field.
Yazalde (Rio Ave) adidas 11Pro
With all the hype surrounding the next major international tournament, Rio Ave's Yazalde returned to the last one this week by lacing up in the 2014 adidas Battle Pack 11Pro. Originally launched ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the 11Pro's black and white design was extended across the full adidas silo collection as the brand aimed for an dominant display.
