Japan U20s Train In adidas Nemeziz

When it comes to launching a new football boot silo brands have numerous ways of getting the product out there to acquire feedback. World Class players from the biggest clubs are the obvious go to, but the next generation are also involved when it comes to test driving the latest innovations.

The FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea provided the latest glimpse at an upcoming adidas project as Japanese youngsters switched into an unseen colourway with Three Stripes for the first time, confirming that the silhouette belongs to the brand. This isn't the first time we've seen players slip into the currently unreleased silo but it is the first time we've seen a player across any professional level wear a colourway of note. Is it the launch colourway of the upcoming adidas silo? That's yet to be confirmed by the brand. For now, it's simply a closer look. The technology, colourways and player uptake will follow in adidas' time.

Lionel Messi has already worn the laced version in a black-out design to indicate that he's at the forefront of the adidas next-generation plans, but it'll be a laceless edition that will no doubt headline the collection that is expect to drop this summer. On first inspection the adidas silhouette features an all new shape, most notably on the ankle construction, while a heightened collar is present but adjusted and repositioned in comparison to adidas' current X and ACE editions. Trippy patterns and bold stripes ensure that adidas are hitting the colourway game hard with the silo, and that's likely to reflect the attitude of the players that the brand will supply them to.

Blackout versions have also previously been spotted on the feet of Borussia Dortmund youngster Alexander Isak and it's apparent that the new project from adidas will sit away from the ACE and X generations, meaning it's a new project for 2017/18 as adidas begin to look ahead to the 2018 World Cup in Russia. A fresh silo with a completely redesigned silhouette. The next chapter of adidas Football is slowly being revealed but you can expect the brand to have a fair few surprises up their sleeves as the 2017/18 season creeps ever closer. They always do. One thing we do know is that adidas are turning up the heat in front of goal this summer.
