It's mid-July and the balls are out. The running trainers are replaced by the latest football boots ahead of the new season and clubs get deep into their preparations. It's tour time and we've picked out our selection of the most random, custom and new boots on show this week, from Texas to Tanzania.
Juan Mata (Manchester United) adidas Nemeziz 17+
Juan Mata looks set to switch to the adidas Nemeziz squad after he opted for the laceless design in Manchester United's pre-season friendly with LA Galaxy. The Spanish midfielder was wearing the ACE+ 17 Purecontrol last season, so he's no stranger to the laceless design.
Olivier Giroud (Arsenal) PUMA evoPOWER Vigor 1
Olivier Giroud was sporting a new colourway as Arsenal got their pre-season tour of Australia off to a 2-0 win against Sydney FC. The Gunners' striker slipped into the latest evoPOWER Vigor 1 "Graphic" design down under, a boot that will be on the feet of all evoPOWER players as the season begins.
Reece Prestedge (Maidstone United) adidas Predator Accelerator Revenge
Maidstone United's Reece Prestedge jumped into a pair of adidas Predator Instinct 'Revenge Pack' Accelerators this week to provide one of the most limited edition spots. Inspired by the 1998 design, the Accelerator design was pasted onto the Predator Instinct silo for a blast of nostalgic brilliance.
Shanice van de Sanden (Netherlands) Nike Mercurial Vapor XI
Shanice van de Sanden has laced up in the latest Nike 'Light Aqua' women's pack for the UEFA Women's Euro 2017 tournament this summer. The collection provides an alternative to the men's 'Lock In Let Loose' pack and will be worn by the majority of Swoosh athletes at the tournament this summer.
Laura Fusetti (Italy) adidas Predator Powerswerve
Laura Fusetti is also at the UEFA Women's EURO 2017 tournament in the Netherlands this summer. But rather than lacing up in the latest colourways Fusetti has gone old school by wearing the adidas Predator Powerswerve model from the 2007/08 season. Classy, those Italians.
Kennedy Muguna (Gor Mahia) Nike Mercurial Superfly V
Everton's visit to Tanzania saw Wayne Rooney return with a goal for the Blues, but it was Gor Mahia's Kennedy Muguna who we had our eye on. Mugunda was wearing a custom, possibly counterfeit, Nike Mercurial Superfly V coolourway in white and blue.
Mohamed Abukar (Lazio) Concave Aura+
Mohamed Abukar looks to have joined the Concave movement after he switched into the Aura+ model for Lazio's pre-season friendly against a Reappresentativa Cadore side this week.
Reiss Nelson (Arsenal) adidas Glitch 17
Reiss Nelson impressed in Arsenal's 2-0 victory against Sydney FC this week. The 17-year-old created a number of chances from the right wing leaving Gooners wanting to see more. If Nelson does get his chance in the Premier League this season he may do so wearing the adidas Glitch 17 boots. A boot that the Three Stripes have seeded to some of their next-generation prospects.
Krystian Bielik (Arsenal) Nike Tiempo Legend 6
Another Arsenal player to catch the eye for his unique boot choice in Australia was Krystian Bielik. The Polish defender has customised the previous generation Nike Tiempo Legend 6 with a red and white colourway to match up with the Arsenal home kit.
Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United) Nike Hypervenom II
Just as it looked like Romelu Lukaku was set to sign for adidas he switched back into the Nike Hypervenom series for his Manchester United debut against LA Galaxy. Lukaku is still expected to sign for the Three Stripes, having trained in the Nemeziz and X silos, but is likely just taking time to get used to his new footwear.
Erick Gutierrez (Mexico) adidas Nemeziz 17.1
Erick Gutierrez went for the stealth mode as Mexico took on Curaçao in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup in Texas this week. Gutierrez completely blacked out his adidas Nemeziz 17.1 boots to disguise all branding. Probably would have been easier just to buy the 'Magnetic Storm' pack edition Erick, mate.
