Global Boot Spotting

Time to go again. Fitness turns to football as pre-season preparations shift through the gears. We take a look back at the week in boots as the girls get busy in the Netherlands and the boys count down the days to the new campaign. Custom designs, latest colourways and your usual mixed bag of randoms.

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) adidas X 16.1

Was this Gareth Bale's way of dropping a subtle hint that he's interested in a move to Manchester United? Nah, probably not. The Welshman reverted back to the previous generation adidas X 16.1 model in a "Red/White/Black" colourway as Real Madrid lost on penalties to United in California. As for that speculation, Bale once again denied the rumours of a move after the game.

Lucy Bronze (England) Nike Tiempo Legend 7

England's Lionesses made it a perfect start to their Euro 2017 group stage by following up their 6-0 win over Scotland with a 2-0 win over Spain at the weekend. Nike launched a women's specific collection for the tournament in the Netherlands this summer, and Lucy Bronze was sporting the Tiempo 7 as England increased their lead at the top of Group D.

Sara Daebritz (Germany) Nike Hypervenom 3

Sara Daebritz has also made her way into the Nike 'Light Aqua' Pack this summer. The German midfielder was in action during her side's 2-1 win over Italy wearing the Hypervenom 3 boot from a collection that will no doubt be as popular in the men's game.

Alessandro Lucarelli (Parma) adidas X 16.1

Alessandro Lucarelli gave a customised edge to his footwear as Parma upped their pre-season preparations this week. The Italian defender, who turned 40 at the weekend, removed the laces from his leather adidas X 16.1 boots to ensure he's still down with the kids and all their laceless tech these days.

Kevin Mirallas (Everton) New Balance Furon 2.0

Everton winger Kevin Mirallas provided a first look at the next New Balance Furon 2.0 colourway as his side visited FC Twente. Mirallas' new design is set to be the brand's first on-pitch colourway of the 2017/18 season and takes on a predominantly black vibe.

Nishan Burkart (Manchester United ) adidas Glitch 17

Manchester United U18s travelled to Northern Ireland to compete in the NI Super Cup this week. Nishan Burkart was on the scoresheet against Northern Ireland u18s in Coleraine wearing the all white leather Glitch outer skin with red inner shoe.

John Fleck (Sheffield United) Nike Tiempo Legend 6

Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck has whipped up a custom Nike Tiempo Legend 6 design ahead of life in the Championship next season. Designed in mind to match with the Blades' home strip, Fleck was sporting the colourway as his side beat Rotherham 2-1in their away kit on Friday night.

Maya Yoshida (Southampton) Mizuno Rebula V1

Southampton played out a 2-2 draw with Brentford at the weekend, giving Maya Yoshida the chance to switch into the latest generation of Mizuno footwear. The Japanese defender was wearing the new Rebula V1 silo, which has replaced the Wave Ignitus series.

Jodie Taylor (England) Pantofola d'Oro

Jodie Taylor has lit up the women's EURO 2017 championships in the Netherlands this week with a hat-trick against Scotland and a solitary strike against Spain. The English striker has been in fine form wearing the all white Pantofola d'Oro Lazzarini, one of the most low-key boot designs on show this summer.

Vanessa Marques (Portugal) Nike Hypervenom II

Vanessa Marques brought some signature game to the women's tournament by slipping into Neymar's exclusive 'Ousadia Algeria' Hypervenom II designed in collaboration with Brazilian artist, Bruno Big.
