Global Boot Spotting

Football. Is. Back. We may have to wait one more week for the start of the Premier League season, but as teams got back into competitive action this week we take a look around to see who was wearing what to kick their first ball in anger. Custom colourways, the latest drops and the odd random. Let's go.

Kalvin Phillips (Leeds) adidas Predator Mania Champgane 2017

Leeds kicked off their season with a 3-2 win at Bolton on Sunday. The pick of the boot spotting action came from Leeds youngster Kalvin Phillips, who helped himself to a brace wearing the limited edition adidas Predator Mania Champagne. Classy.

Javier Hernandez (West Ham United) adidas Nemeziz 17.1

Javier Hernandez marked his return to English football in a pre-season friendly between his new club West Ham and Manchester City in Iceland (obviously). The Mexican striker has switched into the adidas Nemeziz silo for the upcoming Premier League season.

Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) Nike Hypervenom 3

After fronting the launch of the new Tiempo 7 for Nike last month Sergio Ramos switched into the Hypervenom 3 ahead of Real Madrid's Super Cup Final against Manchester United on Tuesday. Nike will be hoping Ramos switches back into the Tiempo for the game, having spent a lot of time and money theming the Tiempo around Ramos' personality and attributes.

Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) Nike Mercurial Superfly V

Jamie Vardy also switched Nike silos this week, albeit in a less dramatic style to Sergio Ramos. The Leicester City striker scored twice as the Foxes came from behind to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach, suggesting Vardy will likely stay in the Mercurial to kick off the new season. Superstitious bunch, strikers.

Sebastian Stockbridge (Referee) adidas Gloro 15.1

Refs with personalised boots. Probably deserves its own feature to be honest. The man in black for Shrewsbury Town vs Northampton Town at the weekend was Sebastian Stockbridge, who definitely makes the players call him Seb, or S-Dog. 'Ref' is far too formal for this cool cat.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) adidas X 17+ Purespeed

Mohamed Salah switched into the alternative colourway of the new adidas "Ocean Storm" pack as Liverpool took on Athletic Bilbao in Dublin. The majority of adidas contracted X players will be wearing the "Solar Yellow" drop when the season kicks off, but a few players, including Salah, will be spotted in this lower-key edition.

DaMarcus Beasley (MLS All-Stars) Concave VOLT+

DaMarcus Beasley slipped into the Concave VOLT+ for his fifth MLS All-Star Game last week. The striker opted for the powerful, lightweight silo as he helped his side draw with Real Madrid before losing out on penalties.

Paulo Dybala (Juventus) PUMA ONE 17.1

Paulo Dybala is still yet to officially sign for a brand ahead of the new season. The Juve man lit up the Champions League last season in his blackout Nike Mercurial boots, sparking a huge race for his signature. Having already worn blacked out Nike and adidas boots it appears that PUMA are in the driving seat after Dybala wore a blacked out One 17.1 against Tottenham at Wembley.

Kelly Zeeman (Netherlands) Nike Tiempo Legend 7

The Dutch claimed the EURO 2017 women's title on home soil with a 4-2 win over Denmark. One of the boots of the tournament was this alternative Tiempo 7 colourway, worn by Kelly Zeeman, and from the women's Nike Pack that was launched ahead of the competition.
