Global Boot Spotting

It was a weekend of four goal hauls with Mo Salah, Mauro Icardi, and Cristiano Ronaldo all firing strong ahead of an international break. Those were the players making the most noise, but which boots were also turning heads? We recap the past week of action to pick out the sharpest custom, latest, and throwback boots on show.

Emmanuel Adebayor ( Istanbul Medipol Basaksehir) Nike Mercurial Vapor 360

Former Premier League striker Emmanuel Adebayor was sporting the latest "Black/Total Orange" Nike Mercurial Vapor 360 boot at the weekend. Adebayor is now plying his trade in Turkey and has opted for the more low-key Vapor colourway, rather than matching up his kit with the bright "Total Orange" launch edition.

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) PUMA Future 18.1 Netfit

Antoine Griezmann switched into the latest PUMA Future 18.1 Netfit drop at the weekend as Atletico lost ground at the top of La Liga after losing to Villarreal. The all black Future 18.1 launched last week as part of the "Eclipse Pack" as PUMA drenched both their leading silos in all black coats.

Matias Suarez (Belgrano) adidas Predator Mania Champagne

Matias Suarez brought some limited edition game to the scene this week as he laced up in the adidas Predator Mania Champagne. The iconic boot was brought back to life last year as part of a wider "Champagne" collection in the lead up to adidas re-launching the famed Predator series.

Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City) Mizuno Rebula V1

Leicester City fell at the Quarter Final stage of the FA Cup on Sunday as they were edged out by Chelsea in extra-time. Shinji Okazaki came off the bench for the Foxes wearing the new Mizuno Rebula V1 colourway in bright "Safety Yellow".

Jacob Murphy (Newcastle United) Under Armour Magnetico Pro

Jacob Murphy's Under Armour Magnetico Pro colourway was a tidy match-up with the Newcastle away kit this week. The Magpies are currently in Alicante for a bit of warm weather training, where they faced Royal Antwerp in a friendly.

Nick Powell (Wigan Athletic) adidas Copa Gloro 17

Wigan's heroic FA Cup run also came to an end this weekend as they lost 2-0 at home to Southampton, but whoever wins the cup this season can thank the Latics for knocking out Man City along the way. Nick Powell was the pick of the boot spotting action at the DW Stadium wearing the "Silver Metallic/Solar Red" adidas Copa Gloro 17.

Tomoaki Makino (Urawa Red Diamonds) adidas F50 adizero

Tomoaki Makino has been sporting the odd-boot look for a couple of seasons now. The Urawa Red Diamonds man has paired up one red and one white boot from the discontinued adidas F50 adizero series to create a split design on pitch. Complements his home kit nicely, too.

Romina Pinna (Bari) Nike Mercurial Superfly V

Romina Pinna added some custom flair to her Mercurial game this week. The Bari women's player has created a bespoke "Red/Blue/Black" combo on the upper of her boots and finished the design off with a Safari print graphic across the upper.

Sanni Franssi (Juventus) Nike Mercurial Vapor XI BHM

Juventus Women's player Sanni Franssi was sporting the limited edition Nike Mercurial Vapor XI BHM at the weekend. The design was launched to celebrate 2018 Black History Month, and sold out on the same day it dropped thanks to its sharp design and strong messaging.

Mitchell Clark (Aston Villa) adidas Glitch 17

Aston Villa youngster Mitchell Clark slipped into the adidas Glitch 17 series this week. Sporting the "Hacked Pack" outer-skin with re-posiitoned stripes, Clark held his side beat Blackburn U23s 2-0 at Villa Park.

Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan) Nike Hypervenom 3

Mauro Icardi scored his 100th Serie A goal in the first half against Sampdoria on Sunday. By half time he'd scored his 101st and 102nd. Icardi emerged for the second half wearing a bespoke Inter Milan-themed Nike Hypervenom 3 design to celebrate his landmark achievement, and duly scored his 103rd in them.
