Cristiano Ronaldo provided a first glimpse at a special edition Nike Mercurial Superfly 360 as Real Madrid trained today. Seasoned with safari style and tinted with "Total Orange" twist, is this the first disruptive dish for the new generation series?

What we're looking at here is sure to be some sort of limited edition design from the Swoosh, but time will tell whether it's a CR7 exclusive, or something more complex. What we do know is that the current CR7 series is following a Chapter format, and we'd bank on Chapter 6 being slightly more bespoke than what he's wearing here.

Ronaldo's mystery design features the same "Total Orange" upper as the launch edition with the introduction of a prominent safari-styled print across the boot. Crisp white Swooshes replace the graphic black logos on the standard edition drop to wrap things up. Nike are keeping their cards close to their chest at the moment, but we can likely expect something more official in the coming weeks.

Nike have kicked off 2018 in seriously strong style. The Mercurial 360 launch was full of statement surprises, collaborations, and innovation so we're not ruling anything out right now in regards of what Cristiano Ronaldo is wearing on his feet. This subtle transformation could come with a far bolder back-story. Stay tuned...
