As we wade deeper into the business end of the 2017/18 European season we're taking a look at the boots that caught our eye this week. From the latest, to the custom, to the throwback. It's standard Monday practice. Scroll away...

Marko Arnautovic (West Ham) PUMA Future 18.1

PUMA athletes switched into their new "Frenzy Pack" colourways this week as the Future and One series were updated with blue and green designs. West Ham's Marko Arnautovic chalked up an assist as his pass saw Javier Hernandez net an equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Superfly 360

Ronaldo Jr got to have a kick around with his old man after the Madrid derby at the Bernabeu. The youngster was wearing a custom black and gold version of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 360, although his dad looks to have bought them a couple of sizes too big for him to grow in to, while saving a few quid in the process.

Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona) adidas Predator 18+

Barcelona took a step closer to La Liga title by beating Leganes 3-1 at the weekend. That man Messi with another hat-trick as all of Barca's adidas players continued to sport the new "Deadly Strike" colourway collection. Ivan Rakitic wearing the laceless Predator 18+.

Paolo Fernandes (NAC Breda) adidas X 17+

The X 17+ design from the "Deadly Strike" collection packs the biggest on-pitch punch. The bright "Aero Green" design wraps around the entire upper to remain on pitch through to the end of the domestic European season.

Kazaiah Stirling (Tottenham) Nike Hypervenom

Spurs youngster Kazaiah Stirling took things back this week as he laced up in the first generation Nike Hypervenom. That super-supple NikeSkin upper drew in a lot of players before it was replaced by the second-generation design. Stirling was wearing the "Shine Through" colourway from 2014.

Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea) PUMA One 18.1

Cesc Fabregas was one of the leading PUMA players to switch into the bright "Green Gecko" ONE 18.1 design this weekend. Sergio Aguero and Olivier Giroud also switched into the colourway as PUMA dropped the "Frenzy Pack" into the mix.

Josh King (Bournemouth) adidas Glitch 18

Bournemouth striker Josh King has become the latest Premier League player to get his hands on the disruptive Glitch series. The two-piece construction had been dished out to an exclusive group of academy players, but King is one of the first senior players to wear the model.

Marcos Alvarez (Osnabrueck) Nike What The Mercurial

The second-generation 'What The Mercurial' has had a relatively low-key launch due to its blackout design, but the limited edition boot has still featured on pitch. Osnabrueck's Marcos Alvarez was sporting 1 of just 1998 pairs in circulation this week.

Dylan Gissi (Defensa y Justicia) adidas X 15.1

Dylan Gissi was wearing a custom colourway of the boot that kicked off the adidas Football revolution this week. The X 15.1 replaced the F50 line at the same time as the ACE replaced the Predator. Gissi has kept his custom design clean with a white and gold pairing.

Lys Mousset (Bournemouth) Nike Mercurial Vapor XV

Another Bournemouth player in alternative footwear this week was Lys Mousset. The French forward wore the limited edition Mercurial Vapor XV boots that were launched to commemorate 15 years of the Nike Mercurial and the player who inspired them – Ronaldo.
