Spurs Duo Train in Blackout Nike Boots

Nike get ever closer to revealing their 2018/19 boot collection as Tottenham Hotspur duo Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld both trained in blackout versions of a new generation silhouette this morning.

Expected to launch at the beginning of the 2018/19 season the unreleased silo has been put through the paces by Eriksen and Alderweireld as Spurs prepare for the weekend. Considering that both Eriksen and Alderweireld wear Nike's Magista boot, it's safe to say that this upcoming drop will replace the Magista series. The fact that another leading Magista player in Kevin De Bruyne has also been spotted wearing the boot only backs that theory up further.

The second generation Magista boot launched in July 2016, so it's no great secret that the silo is ready for an update. It's expected that Denmark's Eriksen and Belgium's Alderweireld will remain in the Magista silo at the World Cup, along with the rest of Nike's Magista players – so another July launch is likely, taking the second-gen Magista to a round two year shelf-life.

The silhouette looks to have taken on a complete re-haul with numerous standout changes. Most notably the blackout boots feature a mesh lace cover built onto a one-piece Flyknit upper, with a compression styled mid-collar coming up through the interior of the design. The outstep of the boot looks clean, but there's visible ball control technology on the instep, and a reinvented soleplate down below.

The Magista replacement is expected to kick off the Nike 2018/19 season plans, with no change in personnel in the Nike squad expected for the 2018 World Cup. We saw a new Mercurial earlier this year and that'll remain on the feet of CR7 and co in Russia. The Tiempo still has gas in the tank, and the Hypervenom is expected to remain on the feet of Nike strikers including Rashford, Lewandowski, and Cavani.

The World Cup line-up may be unchanged, but you can still expect huge hype around the tournament pack. A trend that Nike have delivered on for the last three World Cups.
