Slipping into the X 18+ launch colourway ahead of the Champions League Final this weekend, Mo Salah has unveiled the next-generation of laceless adidas football boots that will drop to spearhead the Three Stripes into the 2018 World Cup.
Salah has spent a large part of this season training in a blacked out edition of the X 18+, but now adidas are ready to give the X some exclusive time in the spotlight ahead of being joined by a full on-pitch collection for the big dance in Russia next month. Kiev beckons, and Salah is expected to be joined by other leading Real Madrid X players on Saturday night.
The X 18+ series will be led by the laceless edition and supported by a laced 18.1 drop – meaning that the entire leading adidas cast is now available in laceless form – the X joins the Nemeziz and Predator. Streamlining the silhouette with strong aesthetics, the X 18+ carries somewhat of a F50 adizero vibe, and that's not a bad thing in our book.
We've seen the paintwork, but for now though, adidas will keep their engine under wraps until an official unveiling towards the end of this week. New challenge, new boots. Timely too, considering his last pair were donated to the world famous Egyptian collection at the British Museum last week.
