Global Boot Spotting

As the pre-season party picks up pace, we're taking a look back at the past week to see which players have returned to their day jobs in new boots. As brands drop their first 18/19 collections the choice is plentiful. From throwbacks, to the very latest drops, here's what we picked out...

Marko Arnautovic (West Ham) PUMA Future 2.1

Marko Arnautovic was on target this week as West Ham beat Ipswich Town in a pre-season friendly at Portman Road. The Austrian attacker has removed the laces from the latest "Uprising Pack" colourway of the PUMA Future 2.1 boot; a design which he'll kick off the season in.

Beatriz (Brazil) Nike Mercurial Vapor 360 Neymar

From one Brazilian forward to another. Brazil's Beatriz was wearing the Neymar "Meu Jogo" Mercurial Vapor 360 this week as she scored against Japan in the USA. The Meu Jogo design was worn exclusively by Neymar in the World Cup KO stages this summer.

John Fleck (Sheffield United) Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III

John Fleck pulled out a pair of Nike Air Zoom Total 90 III boots from 2004 last week as Sheffield United drew 1-1 at home to Inter Milan at Bramall Lane. One of the boots of the 00s, the T90 Air Zoom series was worn by numerous leading strikers at the time.

Pablo Mouche (San Lorenzo) adidas F50 Crazylight

Another player wearing throwback boots this week was Pablo Mouche in the adidas F50 Crazylight. Released in 2014 as the world’s lightest ever football boot weighing just 135g, the second Crzaylight offering was released as part of a wider collection covering the Predator, Nitrocharge and 11Pro.

Sadio Mane (Liverpool) New Balance Furon 4.0

Sadio Mane was on the scoresheet as Liverpool beat Man United 4-1 in Michigan at the weekend. The 2018/19 season will be Mane's first as an official New Balance athlete, and he switched into the new "Flame" Furon 4.0 colourway against his side's old rivals.

Hector Bellerin (Arsenal) PUMA ONE 19.1

Hector Bellerin was quick to switch into the new "Silver/Shocking Orange" PUMA ONE 19.1 colourway this week during Arsenal's pre-season tour of Singapore. The new update, which will be the brand's first on-pitch effort of the new season is part of the "Uprising Pack" that launched last week.

Benjamin Mendy (Man City) adidas X 18.1

Benjamin Mendy wore the adidas Glitch 18 silo throughout the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but he's returned to his day job wearing the X 18.1 in the new "Team Mode" colourway. After spending time in the laceless Glitch, Mendy has favoured the laced version of the X silo.

Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham) Nike PhantomVSN

Ryan Sessegnon will be a player to watch the season as Fulham return to the Premier League. The England youngster was wearing the new Nike PhantomVSN "Raised on 'Concrete" colourway this week as he helped his side beat Athletic Bilbao in a pre-season friendly.

Ciro Immobile (Lazio) adidas Nemeziz 18+

The first on-pitch adidas pack of the 2018/19 season arrived last week as the Three Stripes launched the "Team Mode" collection. The Nemeziz 18+ addition to the pack comes in the form of a bold blue wrap, worn this weekend by Lazio's Ciro Immobile.

Felipe Anderson (West Ham) adidas Predator 18+

West Ham new boy Felipe Anderson was also on the scoresheet in the Hammers' win over Ipswich at the weekend. The former Lazio attacker was wearing the "Team Mode" adidas Predator 18+ in the most traditional of Predator colourways.
