Global Boot Spotting

After a rude interruption from the international break we're back to the good stuff. As the season enters second gear the boot releases begin to match the tempo. Limited editions, collaborations, customs, unreleased colourways. It's been a busy one...

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) PUMA Future 2.1

Antoine Griezmann slipped into the limited-edition Future 2.1 design this week as Atletico Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Eibar. The colourway is a collaboration with Niky's Sports and is titled the 'Los Angeles City Pack'.

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid ) adidas X 18.1

Karim Benzema switched into the upcoming adidas X 18.1 colourway this week. The Real Madrid man trained in the all-white design ahead of adidas dropping their full silo collection to debut in the Champions League group stage openers this week.

Mauricio (Urawa Red Diamonds) Mizuno Morelia Neo II

Mizuno delivered a typically classy update to their boot collection last week by hooking up the Morelia Neo II and Rebula V1 with premium gold 'Made in Japan' colourway. Urawa Red Diamonds' Mauricio was sporting the lightweight all-gold Neo II as his side beat Yokohama 2-1 in Sunday.

Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City) adidas Predator Accelerator Electricity

You'll never get bored of seeing this boot on Premier League pitches. Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel whipped out his limited-edition adidas Predator Accelerator Electricity re-releases on Saturday against Bournemouth. If you're gonna concede four, you may as well still look the part.

Adama Traore (Wolves) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV

Adama Traore continues to use the Premier League platform to show off his custom Nike Mercurial Superfly IV collection. The Wolves winger switched into another eccentric yellow and black design as his side beat Burnley 1-0 on Sunday.

Joao Moutinho (Wolves) adidas Predator 18.1

The next adidas boot collection will officially drop this week ahead of the Champions League, but numerous adidas players gave an early debut to the updates at the weekend. Joao Moutinho and David Silva were both wearing leather versions of the pink Predator 18.1 in their respective Premier League victories.

Matheus Pereira (Nuremberg) PUMA Future 2.1

We've seen plenty of players removing the laces from the PUMA Future 2.1 but Matheus Pereira has gone one step further by cutting out a chunk of the NetFit netting on his boots. At least that's what we're guessing, it looks too much to be the result of a stray stud.

Blaise Matuidi (Juventus) Nike PhantomVSN

Nike suppled all of their contracted France national team players with white and gold boots for the international fixtures last week. They were worn against Germany and the Netherlands but Blaise Matuidi remained in his PhantomVSN design to return to Juventus duty in the 2-1 win over Sassuolo on Sunday.

Billy Gilmour (Chelsea) adidas Nemeziz 18+

Another drop from the imminent second adidas on-pitch collection of the season got a premature showing thanks to Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour wearing the clean Nemeziz 18+ update. Expect the likes of Roberto Firmino and Julian Draxler to follow suit in the UCL this week.

Neymar (PSG) Nike x Jordan Mercurial Vapor 360

Just hours after PSG and Jordan announced their ground-breaking collaboration Neymar switched into the new Jumpman x Nike Mercurial Vapor 360 design – a boot he'll wear in PSG's Champions League opener at Anfield against Liverpool on Tuesday night, as will his pal Kylian Mbappe.
