Global Boot Spotting

Starting the week with a bang we pick out the best of the custom, limited and throwback boots on show from the past seven days. It's Monday, it's Boot Spotting. From Melbourne to Manchester, let's go...

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) adidas F50 adizero

Benzema took it back to 2014 this week in Real Madrid's match against Valladolid, choosing to wear the adidas F50 adizero "solar slime" boot that featured as a continuation of the Samba pack. Although the Frenchman didn't notch in Madrid's 2-0 win, it was an eye-catching performance for the F50s alone.

Rony (Atlético-PR) Nike Mercurial Superfly V

Atlético-PR's Rony stood out in his side's match against International this weekend as the young Brazilian forward sported a pair of custom coloured Nike Mercurial Superfly V boots. However, the stunning cameo wasn't enough to prevent a late come back with Inter taking all three points.

David Silva (Manchester City) PUMA ONE 1

David Silva got off to a flier in his new PUMA ONE 1 this week with the Spaniard slamming home a superb left-footed volley as City routed Southampton. Silva's deal with PUMA was only announced last Monday, but both player and brand will be hoping for more of the same following an impressive debut together.

Julio Dominguez (Cruz Azul) Nike Mercurial Vapor X "Puro Fenomeno"

South America is always a great place for some gem-like boot appearances and this weekend didn't disappoint as Julio Dominguez of Mexican side Cruz Azul was seen in a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor X "Puro Fenomeno" boots as his side beat Pumas UNAM 2-1. Hats off to Dominguez for matching those boots with his side's kit. Good effort.

Jano (SV Mattersburg) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0 XTRX

The adidas Nitrocharge never really found its place in the game before it was retired back in 2015, but SV Mattersburg's Jano took control of it as his side took on RB Salzburg at the weekend. In the battle of the burgs, it was Salzburg who came out on top, but we're giving kudos to Jano and Mattersburg for the appearance of this lost silo.

Pepe (Besiktas) Umbro Medusae 3 Elite

Umbro's latest project, the Medusae 3 Elite, got an on-pitch run out courtesy of Besiktas' Portuguese defender, Pepe. Leather and laceless, this is a boot to keep an eye on; its sleek look complemented the Besiktas away kit, however they nor Pepe could prevent Besiktas slipping to a 1-0 loss to league leaders İstanbul Başakşehir.

Marcelo Brozović (Inter Milan) adidas Predator Mania Champagne

Marcelo Brozović obviously fancied a change of pace in training this week as he rocked up in a pair of 2018 re-release Predator Mania Champagnes. The Croatian midfielder is contracted to Nike but was also seen wearing Preds in the warm up prior to the Genoa game. He switched back to his Mercurials for the match itself though.

Lucas Torriera (Arsenal) Nike Mercurial Vapor XI "Black History Month"

Lucas Torreira has made a big impact for Unai Emery's Arsenal, and he obviously doesn't just save that for the pitch, turning up to training this week in the Nike Mercurial Vapor XI Black History Month boot that was released back in January 2018. The tough tackling midfielder then switched back to his Superflys for the hard-fought draw with Liverpool.

Thomas Deng (Melbourne Victory) New Balance Tekela Pro

The latest colourway for the New Balance Tekela was on show this week thanks to Melbourne Victory's Thomas Deng, who trained in the design before the Victory went on to snatch a 1-0 win against the Newcastle Jets in the A-League.

Dani Alves (Paris Saint-Germain) adidas X 18.1

Back in training after a long period out, Dani Alves appears to have not only recovered, but also changed his footwear. He had been wearing Nike until recently, but this week he was seen in the adidas X 18.1. Could this be a sign that the Paris Saint-Germain man has changed his allegiances? Interesting move considering his heavy involvement in Nike's PSG x Jordan launch this summer.
