Global Boot Spotting

A big week of releases saw adidas and Nike drop their final on-pitch collections of the 2018/19 season. Alongside the '302 Redirect' and 'Euphoria Mode' packs is your usual bunch of throwbacks, limited edition and customs designs. It's Monday, it's Boot Spotting. Let's go...

Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona) Nike Mercurial Vapor XII

The Nike 'Euphoria Mode' Pack finally made an appearance on pitch last week as Nike supplied the collection to players competing in the Champions League Semi-Finals. Philippe Coutinho was sporting the Mercurial Vapor XI as Barcelona stuck three without reply past his old club Liverpool at the Camp Nou.

Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham) Nike PhantomVSN

Spurs were also beaten in their semi-final first leg but will head to Amsterdam looking to overturn a 1-0 scoreline against Ajax. Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld was also in the 'Euphoria Mode' Pack as he opted for the blue and white PhantomVSN silo.

Isco (Real Madrid) adidas Nemeziz 19+

The new-generation Nemeziz 19+ arrived on Saturday and Real Madrid's Isco wasted no time in slipping on a pair during his side's 3-2 win over Villarreal. The laceless design has been given a few days in the spotlight before adidas launch the rest of the '302 Redirect' Pack later this week.

Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli) adidas X 19+

Another next-generation adidas boot is set to launch this week, and a number of players including Lorenzo Insigne got his hands on the X 19+ this weekend. The shimmering silver design will be part of the '302 Redirect' Pack that'll be worn in the 2019 Champions League Final and summer international tournaments.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United) adidas Predator 19+

It looks like adidas supplied all their players with the '302 Redirect' pack this weekend to ramp up the hype ahead of the imminent launch. The Predator 19+ packs arguably the strongest aesthetic from the collection with a stunning metallic silver upper, tying in nicely with the design of the new-generation X 19.

Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea) adidas COPA 19.1

The fourth and final offering from the upcoming '302 Redirect' pack comes in the form of the COPA series. The most low-key from the new on-pitch collection, the COPA 19+ and 19.1 feature an all black design with red and metallic silver details. Cesar Azpilicueta will be hoping to lace his up for the Europa League Final.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly I

That's all the new releases out of the way, and it was left to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to lead the throwback trend. The Arsenal striker was wearing the first generation Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly in training this week; a boot that was originally launched a decade ago in 2009.

Tom James (Yeovil) adidas Predator Precision 25Y

The re-make of the adidas Predator Precision was released as a celebration of 25 years of Predator but there were no celebration in Yeovil this week. Tom James' limited edition boots were the only positive as Yeovil were relegated out of the Football League.

Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) Nike Hypervenom II

Another leading Nike player to overlook the 'Euphoria Mode' Pack in favour of something a little more vintage this week was Riyad Mahrez. The Manchester City midfielder laced up in the second generation Nike Hypervnom Phantom DF as his side trained ahead of their Monday night clash with Mahrez's old club Leicester City.

Richarlison (Everton) Nike Mercurial Vapor XII

Everton forward Richarlison switched into the signature Mercurial design of his Brazilian teammate Neymar this week as his side beat Burnley 2-0 on Friday night. The Nike Mercurial Vapor XII 'Meu Jogo' design was launched exclusively for Neymar to wear at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
