Global Boot Spotting

It may be the end of the domestic season, but that doesn’t mean the end of Boot Spotting. With climactic finales and summer tournaments just around the corner, there’s plenty of new releases, special editions and throwback classics to keep us going. Let’s see who’s made the cut this week…

Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) Nike PhantomVNM

We had a sneak peek at them in training during the week, but Raheem Sterling turned out for the FA Cup final in his special edition 'Euphoria Gold' PhantomVNM boots. The PFA Young Player of the Year bagged a late brace as City romped to a 6-0 win at Wembley.

Leroy Sane (Manchester City) Nike Mercurial Vapor XII

Joining the PhantomVNM in the 'Euphoria Gold' pack was the Mercurial Vapor XII, which was worn by Leroy Sane in his cameo appearance in the FA Cup final. The German only came on for the last 17 minutes. Just 2,000 pairs of each boot have been released.

Ada Hegerberg (Lyon Feminines) PUMA ONE 5.1

Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg proved once more why she was worthy of the award by bagging a first half hat-trick in Lyon's 4-1 win over Barcelona in the 2019 Champions League final. She did so whilst debuting the latest PUMA ONE "Trailblazer", which has been released for the 2019 Women's World Cup in France.

Dzsenifer Marozsan (Lyon Feminines) PUMA Future 19.1

Joining Hegerberg's ONE "Trailblazer" was a new colourway for the Future. Seen on the feet of Lyon's Dzsenifer Marozsan, the Future has been given a similar colourway to the "Trailblazer" in preparation for this summer's World Cup.

Karamoko Dembele (Celtic) Nike Mercurial Vapor NJR

At just 16 years of age, Karamoko Dembele made his senior debut for Celtic in their last game of the season this weekend, and he did so in the Neymar signature edition Nike Mercurial Vapor 'Silencio'.

Furdjel Narsingh (De Graafschap) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

Heading into the Second round first leg play-off in the Eredivisie, De Graafschap winger Furdjel Narsingh gave his side a vital away goal, and he did so in 2013's Nike Mercurial Vapor IX "Volt/Black/Citrus" colourway.

Emiliano Rigoni (Zenit Saint Petersburg) adidas Predator Powerswerve

Fresh from winning the league title, Zenit took their foot off the gas somewhat, falling 1-0 to FC Rostov. But the more relaxed approach saw Emiliano Rigoni take to the field in 2008's adidas Predator Powerswerve. Nice.

Roger Martinez (Club America) Nike Hypervenom

Club America came agonisingly close to turning their Liga MX Clausura semi-final around after losing the first leg, however they fell just short. Their striker Roger Martinez was unable to find the back of the net in his first generation 2014 Nike Hypervenom boots.

Nikolai Pokidyshev (Shinnik Yaroslavl) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

The highlight of a 0-0 draw between FC Shinnik Yaroslavl and Sochi in the Russina league was the appearance of the "Sonic Yellow/Black" Nike CTR360 Maestri III from 2012 on the feet of defender Nikolai Pokidyshev.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) Nike Mercurial Superfly VII

The season may be over for most, but work goes on for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a Europa League Final to look forward to. Normally one for a something a bit more flamboyant, Auba was spotted training in a blacked out Mercurial Superfly VII, giving us a closer look at the next iteration.
