Global Boot Spotting

The end of the season gives us a whole heap of cup finals and legend matches, within which there’s been plenty of throwback classics, custom specials and new releases on show. Here's your slightly delayed bank-holiday-hangover-induced Boot Spotting, let’s see who’s in…

David Beckham (Manchester United Legends) adidas Predator Precision 25Y DB

Taking to the Old Trafford turf once more, there was only one boot for David Beckham to lace up in as Manchester United Legends took on Bayern Munich Legends in a replay of the Champions League final of 1999. Yep, Becks pulled on his signature limited edition Predator Precision '25 Years of Predator' boots, scoring in a 5-0 romp.

Jack Grealish (Aston Villa) Nike Hypervenom Phantom III

Jack Grealish finally gets to swap out his lucky Nike Hypervenoms following Villa's playoff success. What will he be wearing in the Premier League next season? Whatever he goes with, let's hope they're as durable as these beauties...

Scott Brown (Celtic) adidas Nemeziz 18.1 and 19.1

Cup final, why not? Scott Brown wore a Nemeziz 18.1 on his left foot and a Nemeziz 19.1 on his right for Celtic's Scotland Cup final win over Hearts. You're not going to say anything to him, are you? Good to stand out...

Serge Gnabry (Bayern Munich) adidas Nemeziz 19+

Having recently signed for adidas, Serge Gnabry has been wearing the laced Nemeziz 19.1, despite his announcement video showing the 19+. But in Bayern's DFB cup final victory over RB Leipzig, the German finally slipped on the laceless Nemeziz.

Keisuke Honda (Melbourne Victory) Mizuno Rebula v3

During the AFC Champions League Group Stage match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Melbourne Victory's Keisuke Honda wore what appears to be the debut look for the as of yet unreleased Mizuno Rebula v3. Didn't help the Victory though as they crashed to a 1-3 defeat.

Francesco Totti (Partita Del Cuore Team) Nike Tiempo Legend VI

Francesco Totti wore a custom Nike Tiempo Legend VI during the 'Partita Del Cuore' Charity Match at Allianz Stadium recently. The boot featured a large folded down tongue and a bright volt colourway, standing out as Totti lined up alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Pavel Nedved and Andrea Pirlo.

Andrea Pinamonti (Italy U20) Nike Mercurial Vapor XII

Released for the Women's World Cup, the Nike Victory Pack looks stunning, and Italy's U20 striker Andrea Pinamonti opted to wear the Mercurial Vapor from the pack in his side's recent victories against Mexico and Ecuador, notching the only goal in the latter.

Frederic Veseli (Empoli) adidas Predator Accelerator 25Y ZZ

End of the season, time to let the hair down and have some fun. For Empoli's Frederic Veseli, that means wearing the adidas Predator Accelerator from the recent '25 Years of Predator' Collection. Wasn't enough to get him on the pitch for Empoli's last game of the season though.

Marcel Sabitzer (RB Leipzig) Nike What The Mercurial

Making preparations ahead of the DFB cup final against Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig's Marcel Sabitzer trained in 2016's Nike What the Mercurial. Sadly, he didn't wear them in the actual match though, which Bayern ran away with, winning the domestic double with a 3-0 win over Leipzig.

Lothar Matthaus (Bayern Munich Legends) PUMA King

There was only ever going to be one boot that Lothar Matthaus was going to lace up in for the charity match against Manchester United, with the German pulling on his trusty old PUMA Kings. Class all round.

Marcel Witeczek (Bayern Munich Legends) adidas Copa Mundial

A German legend team wouldn't be complete without an appearance for the adidas Copa Mundial, and Marcel Witeczek was good enough to oblige. With Matthaus wearing the PUMA King, it was only fitting that the Copa Mundial had some representation too.

Jesper Blomqvist (Manchester United Legends) adidas ACE 15.1

A legends game is always guaranteed to give a whole heap of throwback classics, and the game between Manchester United and Bayern Munich didn't disappoint. Jesper Blomqvist didn't go as classic as some, and it was interesting to see him opt for the ACE 15.1, a boot he never would have worn.

Ze Roberto (Bayern Munich Legends) adidas F50 adizero

Brazilian Ze Roberto always brought a bit of flair to the Bayern Munich lineup, and he did so again, this time in the 2011 "Electricity/Anodized Purple" adidas F50 adizero.
