Global Boot Spotting

The Women’s World Cup has been joined by the Copa America and the Euro U21 Championship to offer up a bounty of international Boot Spotting this week. Plenty of new releases, special edition, custom and throwback action to get stuck into. Here goes…

Dani Alves (Brazil) Nike Mercurial Superfly VI

Dani Alves wore a special Mercurial Superfly VI as Brazil opened this year's Copa America with a 3-0 win over Bolivia. The boots had been customised by @theshoesurgeon and they took inspiration from Brazilian graffiti and street artists Osgemeos.

Karina Saevik (Norway) adidas Predator 19.1

Norway's Karina Saevik took to the field in her side's narrow 2-1 defeat to France in the Predator 19.1 that's been released as part of adidas's Women's World Cup pack. A limited pack that only features the Predator and COPA, the adidas WWC pack hasn't had huge on-pitch representation so far in the tournament.

Aya Sameshima (Japan) adidas COPA 19.1

Completing the adidas Women's World Cup pack on pitch, Japan's Aya Sameshima wore the COPA 19.1 in her side's 2-1 win against Scotland. The colourway has been adopted across both the COPA and the Predator.

Paolo Guerrero (Peru) Umbro Velocita IV

Peru got their Copa America campaign underway with a 0-0 draw against Venezuela, and their striker Paolo Guerrero dressed for the occasion in a specially customised pair of Umbro Velocita IV boots.

Genevieve Ngo Mbeleck (Cameroon) Nike Mercurial Victory NJR

Cameroon's Genevieve Ngo Mbeleck wore the Nike Mercurial Victory VI NJR 'Written in the Stars' from 2017 in her side's loss to Holland. The result has left the African nation teetering on the edge of World Cup elimination. Nice boot choice though...

Robbie Brady (Ireland) Nike Mercurial Vapor

Robbie Brady scored Ireland's second goal against Gibraltar in a 2-0 win in the recent Euro 2020 qualifier, and he did so in the Nike Mercurial Vapor 2014 World Cup Heritage Pack.

Rose Lavelle (United States of America) New Balance Tekela v1

Rose Lavelle was given a special edition rose gold Tekela v1 for the women's World Cup by New Balance, and she wore them in the USWNT's opening match, in which the U.S. crushed Thailand 13-0. Rose registered two of the 13 in her signature edition Tekelas.

Aaron Leya Iseka (Belgium U21) adidas Nemeziz Messi 19.1

The Euro U21 tournament got underway this week, and it saw Aaron Leya Iseka wearing and scoring in the adidas Nemeziz Messi 19.1 from the '302 Redirect' pack as Belgium narrowly lost out to Poland 3-2.

David Brooks (Wales) Nike Mercurial Vapor XII

Wales lost to Hungary 1-0 during the recent round of Euro 2020 qualifiers, but Bournemouth's David Brooks was spotted wearing the limited edition Mercurial Vapor XII 'Euphoria Gold', bringing a touch of class to an otherwise disappointing result for the Welsh.

Aurora Galli (Italy) Lotto Solista 200

Following on from one of the shocks of the women's World Cup in which Italy beat Australia, Aurora Galli scored a brace against Jamaica as Italy won 5-0. In both matches the midfielder has been playing in the new Lotto Solista 200.

Deanne Rose (Canada) Nike PhantomVSN

Opting for some personal customisation for her side's opening match of the tournament against Cameroon, Canada's Deanne Rose wore a PhantomVSN, personalised on Nike iD. Canada won 1-0.

Sebastian Viera (Atletico Junior) New Balance Tekela v1

Atletico Junior defeated Deportivo Pasto to win the Colombian First Division Football Championship final. Junior's keeper, Sebastian Viera wore a specially customised New Balance Tekelea v1 for the occasion, with his side eventually triumphing on penalties.

Roger Martinez (Colombia) Nike Mercurial Vapor XII

Colombia's Roger Martinez swapped his first generation Hypervenoms from last week for the limited edition 'Touch of Gold' Mercurial Vapor XII that was originally released as part of the celebrations for Luka Modric's Ballon d'Or win. He scored the opening goal in Colombia's shock defeat of Argentina in the Copa America.

Didier Drogba (Res of the World XI) Nike Mercurial Vapor XI

The annual 'Soccer Aid' charity match sees plenty of ex-pros and celebrities lacing up for a run out, all for a good cause. From a boot perspective, the highlight was Didier Drogba's customised Nike Mercurial Vapor XI. The Ivorian powerhouse added red laces to the gold and black upper for a strong look.
