Global Boot Spotting

As we're rudely interrupted by another international week we're taking a look back at which players were wearing what over the past seven days. New releases, custom colourways, limited editions and throwback classics. You know the drill...

Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus) Nike Mercurial Superfly Dream Speed

The Nike Mercurial Dream Speed series launched last week as the debut design was dished out to Cristiano Ronaldo, Sam Kerr and Kylian Mbappe. The series signals the end of the CR7 signature line but marks the new chapter of an exclusive Mercurial collection.

Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal) PUMA Future 4.1

Arsenal new boy Nicolas Pepe switched into a custom PUMA Future 4.1 colourway for his side's 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday. The Frenchman's boots weren't an official PUMA project, but a design that he received off boot customiser Silni Art.

Manuel Lazzari (Lazio) Lotto Solista 200 III

Manuel Lazzari was repping Lotto in the Europa League last week. The Lazio man laced up in the Lotto Solista 200 III boots as his side came from behind to beat Stade Rennais 2-1 in Rome.

Chimy Avila (Osasuna) adidas adiPURE II

Chimy Avila took things way back to 2009 at the weekend by wearing the adidas adiPURE II as Osasuna took on Villarreal. The second generation adiPURE was one of the most popular designs from the now discontinued series, thanks to its cushioned leather upper and wrap around tongue.

Callum Camps (Rochdale) Nike T90 Laser IV

It's hard to believe the Nike T90 Laser IV launched way back in 2011. It's safe to say that if Nike were to re-release these, as they did with the first generation T90, they would absolutely fly off shelves. The fourth-gen was replaced by the Hypevenom series and many players still feel the gap in the market the T90 left has still yet to be filled by a proper shooting boot.

Arnor Sigurdsson (CSKA Moscow) Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII

Nike's new 'Nike By You' customisation platform has allowed for a number of more dynamic designs this season. Many pros have taken design into their own hands to create slick Mercurial colourways, including Arnor Sigurdsson who has whipped up a clean look.

Marcel Halstenberg (Leipzig) Nike Mercurial Superfly VI

Another player to try his hand at customisation is Marcel Halstenberg. The Leipzig man has opted for an all red design on the Nike Mercurial Superfly VI to match up with his club's kit. We're due a red Merc aren't we? It's been a while.

Stathis Aloneftis (APOEL Nikosia) Nike What The Mercurial

Stathis Aloneftis wore one of the most unique Mercurial designs in the week as he slipped into the limited edition Nike 'What The Mercurial' from May 2016. The boot was made up of 18 iconic Mercurial colourways melded together for arguably the most statement release this century.

Aaron Lewis (Lincoln City) Nike CTR360 Maestri II

Another discontinued Nike boot that would absolutely clean up if the Swoosh were to re-release it is the Nike CTR360 Maestri II. Lincoln City's Aaron Lewis pulled out the official launch colourway of the second-generation series which originally launched back in December 2010. Another of Nike's most missed silos.

Wes Burns (Fleetwood Town) Nike Mercurial Vapor NJR

Wes Burns is still waiting for his exclusive Nike signature series so in the mean time he's wearing Neymar's 'Speed Freak' Mercurial Vapor design. The racing theme colourway packs a strong on-pitch aesthetic and has been picked up by a handful of pro players, as well as the PSG striker.

Will Johnson (Orlando City) adidas Predator Powerswerve

MLS teams with proper suffixes, with players who wear throwback Predators. We can get on board with that. Orlando City's Will Johnson turning out a pair of 2007 adidas Predator Powerswerves is what boot spotting is all about. Top work, sir.
