Global Boot Spotting

This week may have seen the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season, but there’s been no shortage of upcoming new releases on show across the globe as brand’s get things well and truly back on track, and they’ve been joined by a regular dose of throwback classics, custom creations and special editions. It’s Monday, it’s Boot Spotting, let’s go…

Wu Wei (Dalian Professional) Upcoming Nike Boot

We've seen the latest boot from Nike being put through its paces in its blackout form on the feet of numerous pros over the last few months, but in the Chinese Super League match between Dalian Professional and Shandong Luneng Taishan, we got our first look at what is likely to be its launch colourway.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United) adidas Predator 20+

Ahead of the final round of Premier League fixtures, several adidas players were spotted wearing unreleased colourways. One such player was Paul Pogba who trained in a stunning white and black Predator with gold trim. Is this an upcoming signature edition, or part of a wider pack release?

Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich) Unreleased adidas X

Tying in with the Pogba Predator colourway to suggest a pack release, Thomas Muller trained in a new look X this week. This is not the X 19, suggesting that what we're looking at is the first colourway for the new X 20, the boot we've seen trialled heavily over the last few months in its blackout, prototype guise.

Timo Werner (Chelsea) Unreleased adidas X

Another player to be spotted in the upcoming X boot was Timo Werner. The German international gave us one of the best looks at what must be the next generation of X as he completed his first training session with new club Chelsea. The design sees a clean base white with faded black details, notably through the Three Stripes.

Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea) adidas COPA 20+

Fikayo Tomori trained in an upcoming colourway for the COPA 20+ this week. The new look saw a complete blue base joined by white accents on the Three Stripes. Good look for the Chelsea man.

Javi Martinez (Bayern Munich) adidas COPA 20.1

Giving a look at the alternate laced version, Bayern's Javi Martinez also returned for training this week in an unreleased colourway for the COPA 20.1. This blue look lands in stark contrast to the black and white of both the Predator and X, so if it is a pack release, expect a split.

Emerson (Chelsea) adidas Nemeziz 19.1

If we are seeing what is an upcoming pack release from adidas – and all indications point that way – then Emerson has completed the set, with a bright new colourway for the Nemeziz 19.1. Again, this is in contrast to the Predator and X, but more in keeping with the bright block colourings of the COPA.

Harvey Elliott (Liverpool) Unreleased PUMA Boot

PUMA's latest release has been heavily teased over the last few weeks, with the brand calling out a return to speed. Interestingly though, this week saw Liverpool's Harvey Elliott _ normally a Nike man – training in them. This may suggest that his contract with the Swoosh is coming to an end. If that is the case the 17-year-old will be a hot property.

Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) Nike Mercurial CR7 Safari

Another spot from the Bayern training ground as the Bundesliga champions return ahead of the Champions League tournament in August. This time it's flying fullback Alphonso Davies, and he was sporting the Cristiano Ronaldo signature Nike Mercurial Vapor 'Safari'.

Hawa Cissoko (West Ham United Women) adidas Glitch 2.0

Sadly, the Glitch is no longer with us following adidas's decision to end the silo last year, but it hasn't stopped West Ham's Hawa Cissoko repping the eye-catching 'Virtuso' skin that was released back in April 2019. Hard one to miss.

Jingdao Jin (Shandong Luneng Taishan) Mizuno Morelia Neo 3 Beta

Back to that match from the Chinese Super League between Dalian Pro and Shandong Luneng, and the only thing that overshadowed all the boots on offer in this match was a 7-minunte headed-hat trick from Maroune Fellaini – but that's another story. One of those boots was the 'Reach Beyond' colourway of the Mizuno Morelia Neo III β on the feet of Shandong Luneng midfielder, Jingdao Jin.

Hao Junmin (Shandong Luneng Taishan) adidas 11Pro

Honestly, this match was a boot spotting dream. Another player of note was Shandong Luneng skipper Hao Junmin in a pair of adidas 11Pro. Thanks to Fellaini's 7-minute hat-trick, Junmin's side secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Dalian Pro in the opening round of the Chinese Super League.

Beth Mead (Arsenal Women) Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII

Beth Mead showed off the potential of the Nike By You service this week, training in the cleanest of clean looks for the Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII, opting to pretty much whiteout the whole boot.

Wilfred Zaha (Crystal Palace) Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII

Wilfred Zaha is always one to enjoy the special editions on offer from Nike, and for the last day of the season, the Crystal Palace man opted for the Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII 'Dream Speed 2' edition.

Gini Wijnaldum (Liverpool) adidas X 19.1

Interesting little thing we've spotted recently with Gini Wijnaldum's boots... at first glance they appear to be standard X 19.1's from the 'Uniforia Pack', however, on closer inspection you can see that he has a modified tongue, which looks like it could've been lifted straight off the old F50 adizero.
