Global Boot Spotting

Another week of big releases, as adidas show their hand for Euro 2020 with the ‘Superspectral Pack’, which players continued to switch into. That along with some big offerings from Nike and PUMA, plus some throwback fire, special editions, and player switch ups, and we’ve got ourselves some Boot Spotting.

Lionel Messi (Barcelona) adidas Nemeziz.1

adidas dropped the 'Superspectral' pack last week ahead of Euro 2020. All of the brand's roster have been making the switch into the new colourways since, and that includes Lionel Messi, who slipped into the new Nemeziz .1, complete with his own signature logo and details.

Timo Werner (Chelsea) adidas X Ghosted+

Amongst the players to make the switch to the 'Superspectral' pack was Timo Werner, who found his goal scoring touch once more as he slotted home the only goal of the game in what was a crunch clash in the race for the top 4 against West Ham this weekend.

Paulo Dybala (Juventus) adidas COPA Sense.1

Having been wearing the special 'Inner Life' COPA Sense in recent weeks, Paulo Dybala made the switch into the new 'Superspectral' colourway of the same boot. The new look matched up nicely with Juve's home kit in their 1-1 draw with Fiorentina yesterday.

Kylian Mbappe (PSG) Nike Mercurial Superfly 8

Mbappé was among a host of players who have made the switch into the new Mercurial colourway, which was supposed to be reserved for players in the Champions League. With that memo well and truly ignored, the Frenchman laced them up and duly bagged a brace in his side's 3-1 win over Metz.

Neymar (PSG) PUMA Future Z 1.1

Another spot from the Metz v PSG game came courtesy of Mbappé's strike partner, Neymar, who wore a specially customised pair of Future Z 1.1 boots. the work was done by @silni.art, and it featured some Fortnite graphics on the latest 'Spectra Pack' colourway.

Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona) PUMA Future Z 1.1

Sticking with PUMA, and it looks as though Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele could be the latest player to join their ranks, after he was seen training in the Future Z 1.1 this week. Dembele has been a Nike man for several years and usually wears Mercurials.

Billy Gilmour (Chelsea) adidas Predator Accelerator

Chelsea's Billy Gilmour continues to try to force his way into first team contention, and he did so this week in the Predator Accelerator 'Hyperlative' colourway that dropped at the end of March.

Charlie Devlin (Leicester City W.F.C.) adidas X Ghosted +

Charlie Devlin caught the eye this week when she came off the bench in Leicester City W.F.C's 1-0 loss to Lewes in the recently released adidas X Ghosted+ 'Cyclops' special edition boot. The design of the boot was inspired by the stoic X-Men leader Cyclops.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) Next-gen adidas X

Everton got a vital win over Arsenal this week, boosting their European hopes, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin caught the eye in the black out prototype of the next generation adidas X. It's odd to see a prototype in an official match, but it confirms that DCL is clearly on the look out for a new boot supplier, having also been seen in New Balance of late. He was a Nike athlete until recently.

Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) Nike Phantom 3D

Joshua Kimmich gave the Nike Phantom 3D a little run out in the warm up ahead of Bayern's 2-0 win over Leverkusen. Sadly he switched back to the 'Daybreak Pack' colourway for the match, in which he scored his side's second.

Bryn Morris (Northampton Town) Nike Phantom VNM

Couple of spots from the lower leagues to round things off, with Northampton Town's Bryn Morris first up, repping the Nike Phantom VNM 'Future DNA', which was wrapped up to look like the iconic 2002 Nike Air Zoom Total 90 II.

Cafu (Nottingham Forest) adidas F50 X Ghosted

Nah, not that Cafu. This is the Nottingham Forest Cafu, currently plying his trade in the Championship, and his weapon of choice for his side's 1-1 draw with Stoke (not on a wet and windy night, but rather a pleasant, sunny weekend) was the special edition adidas F50 X Ghosted – Nice.
