Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood has been spotted training in an unreleased red and black Nike Phantom GT colourway ahead of their Europa League semi-final first leg against Roma tonight.
After what has been something of a stuttering start for the Phantom GT – due in large part to the pandemic and the subsequent lack of football – Nike now looks like it’s shifting things up a gear for its newest silo. On the back of the Phantom 3D it appears like we’re going to be getting another special edition drop, after Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood was spotted in an as-of-yet unreleased colourway.
Nike are certainly finding their special edition groove once more, following up the Phantom 3D up with the Safari Mercurial drop. And now it looks as though it’s going to be back over to the Phantom, as Nike make up for lost time.
The boot sees a black base joined by red overlays, with silver/chrome details popping through the heel and possibly the soleplate. Greenwood obviously favours the DF version, but from these early glimpses it doesn’t look like there are any tech upgrades, which makes sense, and adds to this just being a special edition drop. As for an official release date, there’s no word, so stay tuned. Eyes on the Roma match to see if he wears them in game.
