Global Boot Spotting

This week saw the final set of fixtures for most of the top domestic leagues across Europe, and players were only too quick to dress for the occasion, showing off upcoming and new releases alongside some specially customised options and some throwback classics. It’s Monday, it’s Boot Spotting, let’s go…

Catarina Macario (OL Feminine) adidas PredCopX

This week, adidas dropped a monster mashup that took all of the best bits from the Predator Freak, COPA Sense and X Ghosted and combined them for the ultimate Three Stripes boot. OL Feminine's Catarina Macario trained in them before wearing them for her side's vital 1-0 win over Bordeaux.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) PUMA Ultra 1.2

Manchester City's talismanic striker made his final appearance for the club, fittingly coming off the bench to score a brace in the Premier League champions' 5-0 win over Everton at the Etihad. And PUMA had kitted the Argentine out in a specially customised pair of Ultras for the occasion.

Kyle Walker (Manchester City) PUMA Ultra 1.2

Aguero wasn't the only person to receive a specially customised pair of boots from PUMA. The German brand enlisted the help of artist Silni to put his touch on boots for all of their Man City athletes, and among those was Kyle Walker. The boots all featured the "This is Our City" callout, with personal touches finishing the designs.

Ederson (Manchester City) PUMA Future Z 1.1

Kyle Walker and Sergio Aguero were joined by Ederson, Fernandinho and Zinchenko on the pitch in their specially customised boots from PUMA. The design took the current 'Spectra Pack' colourways of the Future Z and Ultra, adding special details in celebration of CIty's title win.

Mo Salah (Liverpool) adidas X Ghosted .1

Mo Salah failed to get that all-important goal in Liverpool's final game that would've seen him share the Golden Boot award with Harry Kane, but he did show off a different kind of special boot that caught our attention. The unreleased colourway of the X Ghosted .1 must be part of an upcoming launch, which is interesting given that the 'Superspectral Pack' only dropped recently.

Reece James (Chelsea) Under Armour Magnetico Pro

Interesting spot from the Chelsea training ground, where Reece James was seen training in the Under Armour Magnetico Pro. James has been a Nike athlete, often favouring a throwback release, so does this mean that his time with Nike could be coming to and end? He was back in his Mercurial Vapors for Chelsea's loss to Aston Villa.

Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid) Next Gen adidas X

Joao Felix is now a La Liga winner, after Atletico Madrid sealed a dramatic last day victory. But in the days preceding that match he was seen training in the upcoming next generation adidas X, showing off the sleek laceless silhouette of the prototype.

Anthony Caceres (Sydney FC) adidas Messi Mirosar10 adizero F50

Heading Down Under for a drop of special edition sauce, Messi style. This vibrant beast is the adidas Messi Mirosar10 adizero F50, on the feet of Sydney FC's Anthony Caceres. Originally dropping back in 2014, this was Messi's seventh signature F50 adizero. The design told the story of Messi's childhood in Roasrio, Argentina, with the colourway reflecting Messi's first ever club who played in orange against their rivals in green, a match where a young Lionel scored 4. So there you go.

Josip Ilicic (Atalanta FC) Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII

Released as part of the 'Future DNA' pack back in March 2020, in which current boots got wrapped up to look like past classics, the Mercurial Vapor XIII got dressed up to look like the OG Superfly “Max Orange/Metallic Silver” colourway from 2009. And it was this version the Atalanta's Josip Ilicic opted for in his side's Coppa Italia final loss to Juventus.

Andres Guardado (Real Betis) adidas Predator Absolute

Betis had to come from 2-0 down in their 3-2 win against Celta Vigo on the last day of the La Liga season, and dressed to impress was Andrés Guardado, who caught the eye in the adidas Predator Absolute in the game.

Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII

For the final two games of the season Wilfried Zaha wore specially customised Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII, personalised by artist Dan Hayes, aka @exclusive_custom_cleats and @bwbootsuk. The design saw a picture of Zaha accompanied by the words "Let's Go!"
