Global Boot Spotting

Another week closer to the end of the European season, but another week of Boot Spotting non-the-less. It sees several unreleased boots appearing on pitch alongside a host of special editions, custom creations and throwbacks. Let’s get stuck in…

Thiago (Liverpool) adidas Predator LZ

Thiago looks to be adjusting to life as a Predator player quite nicely. The midfield maestro laced up in the Predator LZ from the recent adidas 'Unite Football' pack in training ahead of the FA Cup final. Unfortunately he did not stick with them for the Wembley showpiece.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) Unreleased Nike Mercurial Superfly

Giving us a sneak peak at an upcoming release, Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted in a Nike Mercurial Superfly behind the scenes of what looks like a new ad for Nike. The boots come emblazoned with the word "Air" down the side, suggesting this will be a follow on from the recent limited edition Mercurial Air Zoom Ultra.

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) Upcoming adidas X Speedflow .1

The upcoming release spots keep coming, this time it's Karim Benzema giving us a look at an unreleased colourway of the adidas X Speedflow .1 in Real Madrid's 6-0 win over Levante. Needless to say he scored in them as well...

Maxence Caqueret (Lyon) adidas Predator Edge .1 low

Another unreleased colourway, this time for the adidas Predator Edge. Appearing on the feet of Lyon's Maxence Caqueret, the upcoming look ties in with the X Speedflow through the appearance of red accents, suggesting they will form a pack release.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Barcelona) Nike Mercurial Vapor 14

Barcelona's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is signing off the season in style, playing in Barcelona's last away game of the season in a specially customised pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor 14, featuring Dragon Ball graphics.

Harvey Elliott (Liverpool) Next Gen New Balance Tekela

Harvey Elliott gave us a glimpse at the prototype of the next generation New Balance Tekela, easily identifiable due to the laceless silhouette. Elliott has been a Furon wearer to date since signing with New Balance, and Tekela has been seeking a face to represent it on pitch. Could this be the future for both player and silo?

Liam Palmer (Sheffield Wednesday) adidas Predator Pulse

Sheffield Wednesday's Liam Palmer is a player that enjoys a special edition adidas Predator, and, following the 'Hyperlative' Accelerator against Lincoln City and the 'UCL Pack' Pulse in the first leg of the playoff semi final against Sunderland, it was the adidas 'Legends Pack' Predator Pulse that he opted for for the second leg. Unfortunately it did not help his side overcome the Black Cats, as they drew 1-1 on the night, losing 2-1 on aggregate.

Antonio Vacca (Venezia) Mizuno Morelia Ultra Light

Despite their relegation from Serie A, Venezia remain one of the most stylish teams around, and helping that reputation was Antonio Vacca, who opted for the golden Mizuno Morelia Ultra Light in his side's 1-1 draw with Roma. The regal colourway ties in nicely with the gold accents on all three of Venezia's kits.

Anthony Caceres (Sydney FC) adidas F50 Adizero IV

Sydney FC's struggles this season continued with a 3-1 loss to Brisbane Roar, but Anthony Caceres – a regular to Boot Spotting – did not let us down, lacing up in the adidas F50 Adizero IV from the 2014 'Battle Pack'.

Victor Cabrera (Tigre) adidas X Speedflow +

Celebrating singles day last year (11/11 – all the ones, get it?) Adidas dropped a special edition colourway for the X Speedflow last year. It didn't get a lot of on-pitch representation, but six months later and the underrated look is still getting a look in, this time courtesy of Tigre's Victor Cabrera, who wore them in during the semi-final match of Copa De la Liga 2022 against Argentinos Juniors, a game they won 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Gustav Isaksen (FC Midtjylland) adidas X Speedflow +

Rounding off this week's Boot Spotting is another colourway for the adidas X Speedflow, and this time it's the sleek 'Edge of Darkness' look. It was worn by FC Midtjylland's Gustav Isaksen in his side's 2-2 draw against Brøndby. The stealth colourway tied in perfectly with Midtjylland's kit for added style points.
