Framed #15 | Salford City FC v Man Utd XI

Retaining their roots while looking to continue their gallop up the football pyramid, our latest 'Framed' instalment comes from Moor Lane as Salford City F.C. played host to a Manchester United select XI.

Freshly kitted up as part of an ongoing partnership with Umbro, Salford City F.C. most certainly look the part. Moor Lane though, not yet having any major overhaul as you might imagine comes with the territory when new owners come to town, this is a very humble and honest set up. An important part to sustaining and building a community, there's tired terracing and container units that double up as on pitch storage.

Now looking at a 2016/17 season in the National League North after a promotion last term, there sits just one division above them before the professional game and that's where ambitions lye. Manchester United on the other hand, who ran out 5-1 winners here with a squad mainly consisting of under-21 players, it's a fruitful future that awaits no doubt.

An incredible gallery by Matt Stansfield that shows a thriving non-league game. Up the football league we go, eh.
