Scenes from a World Cup Final by Jenny Abrams

While the World Cup may roll around every four years, each one stands out as a moment in time never to be repeated. This World Cup and it's climactic finale was everything you could have wanted. A feast of goals rich with super fandom. Taking us inside the powerhouse that is the Luzhniki Stadium, photographer Jenny Abrams captured the moments from the street to the stadium.

Before the 2018 World Cup, media outlets from around the world had cast doubt in the minds about what a tournament in Russia would look like. Tired cliches and battered headline fodder, there were many preconceptions. 2018 will stand out though. While France took the stage by storm on the pitch, off it fans gathered from all sides of the planet to experience a nation they may have never before. Perfectly so, the fans that spread themselves across the stadium for the final were not just from two nations but hundreds. Huge scenes of celebration and a party for football, these images say what words won't.

An eclectic outpouring that is still going on, we've not even stretched a week beyond the final and the reality will still be sinking in for French players and fans alike. A perfect way to welcome in a summer and send it on it's way, Russia 2018 was an occasion that will be looked on with proud emotion. The country gave a good account of itself, as did the travelling fans, let's hope the future is as fruitful.
