Following tough midweek defeats in the Champions League Roma and Inter dusted themselves off for a tasty Serie A clash at the Stadio Olympic as we head to Italian capital for the next stop in our ‘Framed’ series.

After a lacklustre performance in London, tensions were high in the Nerazzurri camp as they arrived with the prospect of leapfrogging Napoli into second should they take all three points. Standing in their way was a Roma side that’s struggled for form, with injuries blighting their campaign. On the back of consecutive defeats I Giallorossi were desperate for a change in fortunes.

A fraught game that was packed with incident ended in a result that did little to help either team, Roma twice fighting back from behind to earn a 2-2 draw. VAR played a pivotal role, first in it’s lack of use when Nicolo Zaniolo appeared to be tripped inside the box, leaving home fans furious. Then, in the final quarter of the game the Romans were awarded a penalty following a VAR review, which Aleksander Kolarov duly dispatched for Roma’s second equaliser. Done. 2-2.
