UNMARKED Episode #3 | Chuba Akpom

The latest episode of UNMARKED has dropped, our podcast alongside the boys from ‘Out of Home’ that sees conversations with footballers in their natural element, talking about life on and off the pitch, and this week we’re joined by Middlesbrough striker and Arsenal academy graduate, Chuba Akpom.

A life on loan seems to have finally come to an end for Chuba Akpom, with the former Arsenal academy graduate returning to England after making an impression in the Greek Super League. That was his first permanent move away from the Gunners – a club he’s been associated with since he was six. But now he’s a Middlesbrough man, and life has gotten off to a pretty decent start, with Akpom hitting the net in both of his opening games with his new club.

Episode 03 of UNMARKED charts the journey of Chuba Akpom, with the forward letting us into what life is like on loan and the reality check that comes with it. He continues on to talk about growing up with players and friends like Alex Iwobi, the challenges of social media and what it's like to play in a new country. Good energy and a big year ahead, it's another unfiltered conversation that breaks down barriers.

UNMARKED brings you conversations with footballers in their natural element talking about life on and off the pitch, their interests and more, and it's hosted by 'Out Of Home' – a collective of four Londoners based in Amsterdam who ask real questions that real fans want to hear. It's a chance to celebrate black culture in football and shine a light on social issues in the game, and this latest instalment follows the debut episode with Ryan Babel, and the second episode with Jordon Ibe.
