adidas Host 2019 MLS Fashion Show in LA

With the 2019 Major League Soccer season underway adidas have showcased how each of their new replica jerseys for the competing clubs can be embraced in lifestyle and fashion circles. Hosting an exclusive event in Los Angeles, the Three Stripes laid on a fashion show with a footballing twist.

Reaching out to local NYC & LA designers and stylists adidas invited the creatives to reimagine this year’s MLS jerseys before shooting a stylised lookbook to show how each of the designs can be interrupted in a scene away from the pitch. An eclectic mix of crazy, intriguingly ridiculous, and sharp transformations. Yeah, some cross the line in terms of madness, but there's a whole lot of good in what is a collection that challenges the perception of replica.

The stylists included Andrew Andrade, Corey Stokes, Sara Gourlay of Frankie Collective and Pierre Hommes of No Sesso. Each of whom put their own spin on a collection of 2019 MLS jerseys by reimagining them with new cuts, complete re-designs and fresh clothing items. Will we be wearing smart casual with goalkeeper gloves, or sticking our head through a sleeve? Probably not. But there's no doubt that there's some standout pieces throughout that stand strong during the transition from performance to fashion.
