As they get over a slight blip on their inevitable charge towards a first Premier League title, Liverpool have launched a new 90’s retro collection that draws inspiration from their teal away shirts worn between 1991 and 1993.

Inspired by historic kit from the era, the collection includes panel and jacquard t-shirts, a long-sleeve tricot crew-neck, a tricot track top and tricot track pants, all featuring the club’s full badge rather than just the Liverbird, strengthening the memories and retro feel. Liverpool have roped in Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Liverpool FC Women’s Rinsola Babajide to model the collection, while they’ve been shot with a grainy effect to link them to the period, with some photography being date stamped as 14 08 93.

The 90’s collection follows up previous dabblings in the retro market from the club, with Trent and Joe-mez obviously having done such a good job first time round that they’ve been called upon again.

The colourings of this collection have led fans to speculate on the possibility that Nike – who are set to provide Liverpool with their kit from the start of the 2020/21 season following the signing of a lucrative new deal – may be looking to bring back the iconic teal look to the first team, something that will likely be warmly welcomed.
