Pulling a cult classic out of the archives for a contemporary retread, street label Slam Jam have teamed up with Italian giants AC Milan to produce a special edition version of the club’s 1995/96 fourth shirt.

Certain shirts carry with them an iconic status among fans, often tied to historic moments in a club’s history. Then some shirts get cult status despite never even featuring all that much for a club. AC Milan’s 1995/96 fourth shirt fits that bill, with the blue strip only featuring twice in the club’s history, in two friendlies during the summer of 1995. The first was a 2-1 victory against Standard Liège, with USA’94 World Cup finalist Demetrio Albertini and George Weah sealing the win; the Liberian striker also found the net in the defeat to Benfica a few days later. But then the shirt was put away, never to be used again, and it became known as the ‘hidden jersey’.

Flash forward, and now streetwear label Slam Jam have raided the Milan archives to pull out the jersey, dusting it down and putting their own stamp on it. Taking the original silhouette, complete with blue base colour, the jersey features a Slam Jam original all-over screenprint on the back, along with a re-invented Rossoneri devil illustration, recalling past legendary moments from the club's history.

With a limited run, the jersey debuted at the Slam Jam pop-up store in Paris on 25 June, during Paris Fashion Week, closing the most exciting season for the team in some years.
